Hey baby, won't you look my way?
I can be your new addiction
Hey baby, what you gotta say?
All you're givin' me is fiction
I'm a sorry sucker and this happens all the time
I found out that everybody talks
Everybody talks, everybody talks

It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chit-chat
Take me to your love shack
Mama's always gotta backtrack
When everybody talks back

Hey honey, you could be my drug
You could be my new prescription
Too much could be an overdose
All this trash talk make me itchin'
Oh, my, my
Everybody talks, everybody talks
Everybody talks, too much

It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chit-chat
Take me to your love shack
Mama's always gotta backtrack
When everybody talks back

Never thought I'd live
To see the day
When everybody's words got in the way

Hey sugar, show me all your love
All you're givin' me is friction
Hey sugar, what you gotta say?

It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
And then she made my lips hurt
I could hear the chit-chat
Take me to your love shack
Mama's always gotta backtrack
When everybody talks back

Everybody talks, everybody talks
Everybody talks, everybody talks
Everybody talks, everybody talks back

It started with a whisper
And that was when I kissed her
Everybody talks, everybody talks back

I know this is probably not what this song really means, but what I got out of the chorus was that a guy and a girl are together, and everyone is always talking about them, and the girl is upset by this. The guy quietly reassures her that everything is okay and it doesn't matter ("it started with a whisper"), she starts to protest, but he kisses her to stop her ("and that was when I kissed her"), then she gives in and kisses him back ("and then she made my lips hurt"...idk, it makes sense to me!). Other people see it, and, like what I said before, talk ("I could hear the chit chat"). The next two lines ("Take me to your love shack, mamas always got a backtrack"), I'm not really sure. Maybe they're getting real into this or something?! And then all summed up by the line "Everybody talks babe". That's just what I got out of it the first time I heard this song. Either way, great song!

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
