"Lullaby" as written by Mariah Carey, Andre Harris and Vidal Davis....
I know the feeling
Of finding yourself stuck out on the ledge
And there ain't no healing
From cuttin' yourself with the jagged edge
I'm tellin' you that it's never that bad
And take it from someone who's been where your at
You're laid out on the floor and you're not sure
You can take this anymore

So just give it one more try
With a lullaby
And turn this up on the radio
If you can hear me now
I'm reachin' out to let you know
That you're not alone

And you can't tell, I'm scared as hell
'Cause I can't get you on the telephone
So just close your eyes
Well honey here comes a lullaby
Your very own lullaby
Please let me take you
Out of the darkness and into the light
'Cause I have faith in you
That you're gonna make it through another night
Stop thinkin' about the easy way out
There's no need to go and blow the candle out
Because you're not done, you're far too young
And the best is yet to come

So just give it one more try
With a lullaby
And turn this up on the radio
If you can hear me now
I'm reachin' out to let you know
That you're not alone

And you can't tell, I'm scared as hell
'Cause I can't get you on the telephone
So just close your eyes
Well honey here comes a lullaby
Your very own lullaby

Well everybody's hit the bottom
And everybody's been forgotten
Well everybody's tired of being alone
Yeah everybody's been abandoned
And left a little empty handed
So if you're out there barely hangin', on

Just give it one more try
With a lullaby
And turn this up on the radio
If you can hear me now
I'm reachin' out to let you know
That you're not alone

And you can't tell, I'm scared as hell
'Cause I can't get you on the telephone
So just close your eyes
Well honey here comes a lullaby
Your very own lullaby
Well honey here comes a lullaby
Your very own lullaby

My InterpretationFirst i'd have to say this is one of the better heartfelt songs on there new cd.i believe it's about a person wanting to give up on life cause there going through hard time's and the song itself is the lullaby to whomever feels that way and to hopefully lift there spirits up enough that they realize there not alone in this world and to never give up.atleast thats what i take from it...GREAT SONG!!!

General CommentThis song is absolutley AMAZING!! It is a great song about not giving up on life. I think its a song about suicide prevention or depression. Or that point in your life when you really don't want to be alive. I think its saying that "the best is yet to come" Its a great line because its saying that there is hope out there. And the video is quite awesome also. It shows a guy who loses his wife and hes stuck with there kid. Hes considering adoption. But i think in the end he comes to realize that he is okay. And hes not the only one. I think the song can be intrepreted in many different ways. And thats whats so amazing about it.

General CommentThis song just has the vibe of anti-suicide coming from it. I believe they talk as if it's a person very close and they can't get a hold of them and they are afraid for them. The best part in life has yet to come and you cant end it now, don't take the easy way out.

    Song MeaningSTORY BEHIND THE SONG:
When Chad Kroeger was 4 years old and his brother Mike was 6, they lived in a trailer park in a very small town called Orion. Their mother was a bartender at a local tavern. They had a babysitter named Arlene who was 15 years old. One night about 1 a.m. Arlene was watching the boys (who were in bed) and some of her friends came to the door. They told her that her boyfriend had been killed racing his motorbike. She was extremely upset and after they left she didn't want Chad and Mike to hear her crying, so she reached over to the stereo and turned it up. (The song that was playing was Take the Long Way Home by Supertramp. Chad says that the harmonica solo in that song is still haunting to him to this day.) Chad heard the music being turned up and got scared. He came out of his room and saw her having a breakdown. Years later, he told this story to some guys that he was sitting with in a bar in Nashville. They decided that they should write a song about it.

    MESSAGE OF THE SONG:
Lullaby is about someone with that feeling of hopelessness and not wanting to carry on with that amount of pain. They feel that they are completely alone and have nobody to talk to and nobody who cares. The message of the song is that there's always somebody to talk to and who cares about you.

My InterpretationThis song is about, I think..a suicidal person. Its saying that everything's okay. You can do this. You're not alone. Youll get through this. And honestly this song saved my life.
