"Up with the Birds" as written by Christopher Anthony John Martin, Guy Rupert Berryman, Jonathan Mark Buckland, William Champion, Leonard Cohen and Brian Eno....
The birds they sang, at break of day
Start again I hear them say
It's so hard to just walk away

The birds they sang, all a choir
Start again a little higher
It's a spark in a sea of gray

The sky is blue dream that lie 'till it's true
Then taken back the punch I threw
My arms turn in oh, those clumsy things
Send me up to that wonderful world
And then I'm up with the birds

Might have to go
Where they don't know my name
Float all over the world
Just to see her again
And I won't show or feel any pain
Even though all my armor might rust in the rain

A simple plot
But I know one day
Good things are coming our way

A simple plot
But I know one day
Good things are coming our way

Oh, yeah

General Commentsuch a beautiful song to end the album. but i CAN'T believe the song is that short. the song was leading me up with the birds and it ended right there...i guess repeats will have to do for now.

General CommentA decent closer. Its an uplifting song that follows Don't Let it Break Your Heart (that song details the breakup fallout). The lyrics are actually lifted from a Leonard Cohen song in places and while it bothers me just a little the amount of 'borrowing' they do on this album this is the successful one. Princess of China and Teardrop failed, but this was pretty beautiful.

General CommentYeah, most albums end on a sad note but when you're Coldplay you have to relieve the gloom a bit, works in the opposite direction, see.

Beautiful song, I feel myself accepting my own life situations and starting again, what's done is done. And trying so very hard to live right there in the moment. I'm making a good go of it.

General CommentIt's an uplifting ending to an album with many ups and downs. "Good things are coming our way" what a perfect choice of words to end the album. This is my favorite song on the album personally. When the song picks up and Chris begins chiming "Might have to go where they don't know my name" I can envision someone getting up from looking up into the skies to face the world again, telling himself to be a happy man regardless of life's situations.

General CommentTo me this song is about getting over a tough relationship. It may have ended suddenly or roughly. Its about the hope that maybe things can once go back to the way they were "A spark in a sea of grey", then about the regrets of how the outcome could have changed. Finally the last half of the song is about the realization that people can start over, with new chapters of their life and that one day good things will happen for everyone in one way or another

TranslationThere was nothing left to repeat. When she hikes mountains she's up with the birds! all very interesting when looking back.

General CommentFor me this song talks about death, floating with the birds and let the pain disappear.
