"Stop The Clocks" as written by and Noel Gallagher....
Stop the clocks and turn the world around, let your love lay me down
And when the night is over there'll be no sound
Lock the box and leave it all behind on the backseat of my mind
And when the night is over where will I rise?

What if I'm already dead, how would I know?
What if I'm already dead, how would I know?

Lost inside my head behind a wall, do they hear me when I call?
And when the night is over where will I fall?
And when the night is over where will I fall?

What if I'm already dead, how would I know?
What if I'm already dead, how would I know?

Stop the clocks and turn the world around, let your love lay me down
And when the night is over there'll be no sound
And when the night is over there'll be no sound
And now the night is over there'll be no sound, sound

General CommentReally interesting that Noel should record this right here right now. High Flying Birds obviously marks the beginning of his solo career, but to end the album with such a dramatic song is intriguing!

"Stop the clocks and turn the world around" -> End of Oasis, end of life as he knew it. Now it's time for a breather.

"Lock the box and leave it all behind/On the backseat of my mind/And when the night is over/Where will I rise?" -> Leave Oasis behind, lock it up and forget it (hopefully not forever, I'm looking forward to a comeback), but now that he's without a band, what will happen??

"What if I'm already dead/How would I know?" -> Bet it feels kinda empty to go solo after being in a band for such a long time. And since Oasis has come to an end, how does Noel know he ain't 'dead and forgotten' now that there's no band anymore?

"Lost inside my head, behind the wall/Do they hear me when I call?/And when the night is over/Where will I fall?" -> He's living in his own world with his songs, and is wondering how the public will respond to his stuff, and where he's gonna end up with his career without Liam.

"And now the night is over/There'll be no sound" -> Coolest part. Now the 'night' (whether that be his time with Oasis, or, more like what I think, the time in between the break-up and the release of his album) is over, it's all calm, it's alright.

It's a little ironic that Noel wrote this song ages ago for Oasis, but chose to record it only now. I mean, to me the song so obviously about the end of something massive. It's totally the Outside the Wall of his album, the grande finale of the huge post-Oasis syndrome. And of course there's something bittersweet about ending with a song that was supposed to have been recorded with the group, but becomes a intimate pondering on what it's like to be outside that same group. Nice song though.
