(Spoken - Fela Kuti)
I'm gonna to play for you our first tune tonight
It's going to be about four tunes
And the first tune, here it goes:
1,2,3

(Verse 1)
Now when them fights go down
Them lights go down
In villas and the village people might be round
They say that all the people gonna like me now
Because I'm talking 'bout the issues in this life we found

All through the country is people getting slain
Priority religion disobey get hanged
I know some little kids quick to get militant
Just give them packs of the gum
They really feel eclipse

They told me not to worry 'bout the struggle
And they don't gotta worry 'cause it's subtle
Tell 'em about the government taking away the light
Aviation is ruined they safe when you take a flight

Safe when you take it- the continent from the white man through
White man colonize wealth can't do
They fly G5 but they gotta land too
We explode like the landmines that they ran through
like...

(Hook)
Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh

(Verse 2)
So we try palm trees in the sky
It's a beautiful day
I'm just happy to be alive
I'm playing with slingshots from renewable goods

Think you got it tough just because you in the hood?
Negative
I'm positive you would be in upset mode
When you wear the same thing like you got a dress code

And yes I am guilty of being privileged
'Cause while I'm in the booth my cousin is in the village

I seen a boy with no father
His mom ain't around life's harder
Pick up soccer he trying to go farther
Hair is a mess can't find him no barber

And this is what it's like
When you ain't got a life
I'm all they got left
But they trying to do right
And they feel my plight
I'm giving them insight
I know we gotta win
So then fly me a kite

(Hook)

(Verse 3)
We get by
The weather is just right
Say good morning when I see you
'Cause I gotta be polite
And I'm living something different
Cause this can't be the life
And you don't got a chance, better focus on your plans

I try to grind like children that sell pure water
The land of the lawless, more slaughter
Negotiate the price, I'll take your offer
In the market where they sell them, what did that cost her?

I try to chase the gold out here
But honestly it's bumpy like the roads out here
And I advise if your salary is handsome
Ngbona Feli Feli they will hold you for ransom

If you gotta take a glimpse of my family life
You would lose your mind- Chris Brown on Grammy night
And this is what the news don't show
There's nothing on the plate so the dudes don't grow

(Hook)x2

(Spoken - Chiddy)
Yeah
You see what this is man?
We done came through all types of odds
We still got people over there right now
You know what I'm saying?
I'm doing this for my cousin Remi
I see you
We gonna make it out the village one day
Sooner... later

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
