"Toma" as written by and Carina Dianne Round Maynard James Keenan....
Stole my patience.
Stole my pride.
Snatched the rhythm from my stride.
Kicked my certainty
Up the middle.
Knocked the wind out of
My romantic side.

Hopes and wishes set aflame.
What's your purpose here, whatcha hope to gain?
Took my dignity
Took my dignity
Burned a lover so earned an enemy.

Time to make it right
That's how it's gonna be
Watch you pay the toll right in front of me.
Time to pay your dues.
Time to set you straight.
Take what you dish out. Toma guey.

Hopes and wishes set aflame.
What's your purpose here, whatcha hope to gain?
Took my dignity
Took my dignity
Lost a lover

General CommentThink deeper... Maynard has a tendency to sing to some sort of "dark passenger" within that's sole purpose is to create negative in his life. In this song the "dark passenger" has possessed him to destroy a prized relationship and he "burned a lover and earned an enemy". He is fed up and is taking back control; its time to pay your dues, its time to set you straight, take what you dish out, Toma guey, "take that jackass!"
