The sea said goodbye to the shore so the sun wouldn't notice
The seaweed that wrapped its arms around you

The carpet on my cheek feels like a forest
And I run through the tall trees with your hands chasing me

The books that I keep by my bags are full of your stories
That I drew up from a little dream of mine, a little nightmare of yours

To be asked to take this plunge, to forgive and forget
And be the better man, to be a better man, to be a better man

So love me, mother
And love me, father
And love my sister as well

The cat's silhouette, as big as a monster
In this concrete jungle, with streetlights hanging their heads

So make all your last demands, for I will forsake you
And I'll meet your eyes for the very first time, for the very last

So love me, mother
And love me, father
And love my sister as well

So love me, mother
And love me, father
And love my brother as well

So love me, mother
And love me, father
And love my sister as well

So love me, mother
And love me, father
And love my brother as well

I met a man today and he smiled back at me
Now there are thoughts like these that keep me on my feet
That keep me on my feet

Well i think that it is a love story told backwards, i believe that is sort of a romeo and juliet sort of thing, but for the most part they are talking to there parents. They are trying to convince there parents that the other one is not as bad as they think Here let me explain from the end of the song to the beginning.

I met a man today and he smiled back at me Now there are thoughts like these that keep me on my feet, That keep me on my feet.; this is exactly as it sounds

So make all your last demands for I will forsake you And I'll meet your eyes for the very first time, for the very last; This is the boy warning his parents that if they will not let him be happy then he will leave them.

The cat's silhouette, as big as a monster, In this concrete jungle, with street lights hanging their heads ; this is the girl telling her parents that though the cat seems as though it is a monster it is only a cat and only appears this way because of the shadows being made by the street lamps. The cat is the boy and the shadow is what there parents see him as, and the street lamps are there judgement, there judgement makes them see what really is not there.

To be asked to take this plunge, to forgive and forget And be the better man, to be a better man, to be a better man ; this is the girl again telling her parents that it is time to forgive and forget it is the right thing to do although it can be very hard to do you are showing your love for your daughter and your consern for her happiness and not your own.

The books that I keep by my bags are full of your stories That I drew up from a little dream of mine, a little nightmare of yours ; this is the boy reminding them of the stories probably told to hom as a child of happily ever after and following your dream is all he ever wanted but now it seems as though it is there biggest nightmare, which happens to most parents, not wanting there children to grow up and leave

The carpet on my cheek feels like the fall grass And I run through the tall trees with your hands chasing me ; this is the girl, reminding herself of good times, knowing she will probably never see him again, maybe they were friends when they were little and something happened and that is why there parents dont want them to be together

The sea said goodbye to the shore so the sun wouldn't notice The seaweed that wrapped its arms around you ; this is the boy telling the girl, the sea, or the girl said goodbye to the shore, him so the sun wouldnt notice, sun being there parents, the seaweed that wrapped its arms around you, meaning there love

The chorus; So love me mother, and love me father, and love my sister as well So love me mother, and love me father, and love my brother as well So love me mother, and love me father, and love my sister as well So love me mother, and love me father, and love my brother as well ;is them telling there parents to love them anyway no matter what happens and let there siblings be who they want as well

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
