"Afternoon" as written by and Trevor Powers....
The TV lights the room,
Like a strobe against the wall.
I've watched all afternoon without watching at all

I'm thinking of you dear,
Every moment of the way.
I tied my hands with rope now watch you escape,
And I make no mistake.

There's a demon on the loose,
He's a head under our floor.
Cause I saw him late last night,
Knocking on my bedroom door.

I have surely saved my blood,
Popping through my body's face.
And when I speak I don't make sense,
But believe me when I see.

Lyric CorrectionThe TV lights the room
Like a strobe against the wall.
I've watched all afternoon without watching at all.
    I'm thinking of you dear,
    Every moment I'm awake.
I tug my hands with woe, now won't you escape?
    Did I make a mistake?

There's a demon on the loose.
    He's hid under our floor,
Cause he saw you late last night,
    Knocking on my bedroom door.
I have fluids in my blood,
    Pumping through my body's veins,
And when I speak I don't make sense,
But believe me when I'm seeding[?].

[worked out mostly from live/session versions. Not entirely sure about that last word but I'm pretty confident the rest is accurate.]

    He's ahead, under, I'm sure
Cause I saw him late last night,

This is what I've taken away from a rather clear studio session flac I have. When reading the posted lyrics above with the album cut, I couldn't quite make heads or tails of it but after repeatedly listening rendition it became obvious to me that the song is about coping with anxiety.

General CommentThis is a totally lovely song and for me the real meaning or topic is the passion in a couple, the demon is the desire and of course he was excited and he was looking to be more close to her and also she would be allowed to that because she was flirting or maybe looking for that too. Youth and passion.
