One, two, three, four

Settle down with me
Cover me up
Cuddle me in
Lie down with me
And hold me in your arms

And your heart's against my chest
Your lips pressed to my neck
I'm falling for your eyes
But they don't know me yet
And with a feeling I'll forget, I'm in love now

Kiss me like you wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
This feels like falling in love
Falling in love
We're falling in love

Settle down with me
And I'll be your safety
You'll be my lady
I was made to keep your body warm
But I'm cold as the wind blows
So hold me in your arms
Oh no

My heart's against your chest
Your lips pressed to my neck
I'm falling for your eyes
But they don't know me yet
And with this feeling I'll forget, I'm in love now

Kiss me like you wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
This feels like falling in love
Falling in love
We're falling in love

Yeah, I've been feeling everything
From hate to love
From love to lust
From lust to truth
I guess that's how I know you
So I hold you close to help you give it up

So kiss me like you wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
This feels like falling in love
Falling in love
We're falling in love
Kiss me like you wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
This feels like falling in love
Falling in love
We're falling in love

Thanks for writing here why Ed really wrote that :).

I would like to share what i am going through now, and why it seems to be written for "us".

I started a weird relationship one year ago. It started with sex and it was all done just to forget my ex-bf. The guy agreed. He had just one condition - we will never be together (cultural, religious and family reasons).

    I agreed.

Until we were just keeping it "friends with benefits" and he was making sure, I am not thinking of the ex who betrayed me, everything was working fine.

Then he started to put more emotions into that. He slowly started to treat me like I was his girlfriend. Once in night, after some emotional breakdown of mine (different reasons) he told me the "I love you". I didn't even know what to reply.

Except doing his work perfectly, he stayed supporting me and my messy life. He got caught on the great sex we had, too. (I am his first.)

    I love those lines:

"I'm falling for your eyes, but they don't know me yet"

I totally see him, feeling this at time, when he was falling for me, I didn't know yet, I was still too much broken after the previous relationship.

"With the feeling I'll forget, I'm in love now"

That's what we do. We know we can never be together, but we push that thought away, it is inevitable, but it can't stop him or me from loving now.

Thise lines: "I was made to keep your body warm But I'm cold as the wind blows so hold me in your arms"

Makes me feel like he says he wants to be with me, he was made to be with me, but there is something outside, stronger than him, and he wishes me to save him from that (so hold me in your arms).

In the end, those lines just describe the whole story - the hate of my ex-bf led me to this new guy, he used to hold me close to himself, so I forget the ex-bf. We started with sex, but ended being in love.

"Yeah I've been feeling everything From hate to love From love to lust From lust to truth I guess that's how I know you So I hold you close to help you give it up"

I know this not what Ed thought, when he was writing it. But, thank you. You managed to describe my story as well, you provided me another way to see it. And another way how to deal with it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
