"By Your Hand" as written by and Thomas Edward Bromley Gareth David Paisey....
I was sitting on my hands at the top-deck of the 178, spitting cusses at my face reflected in the windscreen pane. Throwing insults and calling names. Filthy SMSs that you sent through the day, by sundown become tame, so I set it in motion again.

But fates a cruel mistress, girl, the prettiest in the world. She dresses loosely in a bathrobe with her hair up in curls, 'cause we were kissing for hours with her hands in my trousers, she could not contain herself, suggests we go back to her house. But here it comes, this is the crux, she vomits down my rental tux.

I'm not sure if it's love anymore, but I've been thinking of you fondly for sure. Remember what your heart is for.

By your hand is the only end I foresee,
I have been dreaming you've been dreaming about me

And it's a good night
For a fist fight
Because the dew will temper your fall
You'll sing me lullabies in form of your cat-calls

And I've been dangling in limbo, barely keeping my cool. It's like I'm snookered 'tween the back cushion and touching the 8 ball. I keep replaying my turn, until your patience is shot, you peel your white gloves off seductively before you respot. Your fingertips leave marks and graze, I lay you down atop the baize: I'm not sure if it's love anymore, but I've been thinking of you fondly for sure. Remember what your heart is for.

Graceful, gracious companion with your eyes of doe and thighs of stallion

Lyric CorrectionBy your hand is the only end I foresee,
    I have been dreaming,
    you've been dreaming about me.

By your hand is the only end I foresee,
    I have been dreaming,
    you've been dreaming about me.

I was sitting on my hands at the top-deck of the 178,
spitting cusses at my face reflected in the windscreen pane.
    Throwing insults and calling names.
Filthy SMS's that you sent through the day,
    by sundown, become tame,
so I set it in motion again.

But fates a cruel mistress, girl, the prettiest in the world.
She dresses loosely in a bathrobe with her hair up in curls,
cause we were kissing for hours with her hands in my trousers,
she could not contain herself, suggests we go back to her house.
But here it comes, this is the crux, she vomits down my rental tux.

I'm not sure if it's love anymore,
but I've been thinking of you fondly for sure.
Remember what your heart is for.

    (Chorus)
By your hand is the only end I foresee,
    I have been dreaming,
    you've been dreaming about me.

By your hand is the only end I foresee,
    I have been dreaming,
    you've been dreaming about me.

    And it's a good night,
    For a fist fight,
Because the dew will temper your fall,
You'll sing me lullabies in form of your cat-calls.

And I've been dangling in limbo, barely keeping my cool.
It's like I'm snookered between the back cushion and touching the 8 ball.
I keep replaying my turn, until your patience is shot,
you peel your white gloves off seductively before you re-spot.
Your fingertips leave marks and graze,
I lay you down atop the baize,

I'm not sure if it's love anymore,
but I've been thinking of you fondly for sure.
Remember what your heart is for.

General CommentLove this song so much,
This is probably wrong, but I think it's about a guy who likes a girl but then kind of realises she doesn't like him back, and is only using him for, erm... drunken sex, basically. I only came up with that soley based on the puking down the rented tux, and I think that that was the point where he realises that she's just drunk and doing drunk stuff, and might not like him that much, influencing him to say 'I'm not sure if it's love anymore'
surprised at the lack of comments, LC are too underrated.

My InterpretationHe wants to be with this girl but isn't sure if he loves her. I think the line, "she vomits down my rental tux" doesn't relate to her being drunk (although it could because he rented a tux which usually suggests a formal party) but more to her being ill. This could deter the writer from loving her as it may be a terminal illness but he still thinks "fondly" of her because of how close they are. Then "Remember what your heart is for" is the writer reminding himself that you love with your heart, whereas he is may be leading her along because he enjoys the sex. "I lay you down atop the baize"
"snookered between the back cushion..." Sounds like a dilemma to me again referring to the previous point.

My InterpretationOh and I also think the chorus: "By your hand is the only end I foresee,
I have been dreaming you've been dreaming about me" is being said from the female's perspective, whereas the rest of the song is from the male's.

My Interpretationthis song is about a guy who is generally an asshole, he treats a girl badly, uses her for sex and she falls for him, and it turns out she was probably just one of the crazy ones, it escalates to a point where he begins to get paranoid about how things are going to end and how she will react, maybe he can smell her baking a plan for revenge ("i've been dreaming you've been dreaming about me"). he doesn't want a relationship and she's really into him. the line "remember what your heart is for" is almost a plea saying "please don't take revenge on me!". like too many men he wasn't honest from the beginning and won't apologise.

General CommentI think the song is written excellently and open to multiple interpretations, as any good piece of art is. This is what the song means to me:

He likes a girl a lot. The girl likes him, too, but only for drunken sex. “This is the crux.” She is seeing other people as well. “Remember what your heart is for” means that he does not want to have sex with her if it not going to be for love, because his heart will be broken if he does. So he does not have sex with her, at first. He worries about being killed by her other boyfriend. “It’s a good night for a fist fight.” This death would be "by your hand," because she would be responsible since she led the protagonist along and caused this. He fantasizes that she is dreaming of a long-term relationship with him, even though he knows deep down that she isn't. He ends up having sex with her on a pool table “I lay you down atop the baize.” This time he didn’t remember what his heart was for and soon his heart is broken. The last “by your hand” refers to his own death, a suicide caused by her inability to return the love he has for her.

General CommentI originally thought this song was about Handjobs, but I think it's not as simple as that.
I think all in all the song is about thinking of a person while masturbating. "I've been dreaming you've been dreaming about me" sounds like a fantasy to me. Plus the whole thing of being blue-balled by a girl who is too drunk, and so he jerks off while thinking of her as being graceful, with thighs like a stallion (which is a line I love). I think this is almost proven with the lines "I'm not sure if it's love anymore, but I've been thinking of you fondly for sure" he's thinking about her while jerking off, knowing he only likes her for her body I.e, not love.
