"The Lines in My Hand" as written by and Mikael Lars Akerfeldt....
We are dying in the wake of gods and decrees remain arcane
And everything around us is a consequence of pain

The writings on the wall depict a truth that no one reads
A government of puppets blinded by another creed

Burning voice of insanity
Nothing is the same
Barren lands for the idle man
Find all the lines in your hand

Blinding storms are surrounding us
Take control
In our caps, poisoned wine
Find all the lines in your hands

General CommentIt's definitely about religion and how so many governmental decisions are influenced by the religion. As opposed to basing them on logic and facts. Obviously I do not know this 100%, but it extremely doubtful that it's about Bush. Akerfeldt said in an interview that he hoped the album would make people question the existence of god, this goes along with that idea.

General Commentopeths first political song. it details the bush administration which is a bunch of blind puppets following their own agenda. the americans are in pain since they are being raped by bush. the decrees remain arcane means that americans have their constitutional rights but they are too stupid to know them and so they are taken advantage of by their government.
