"Alibis" as written by Nick Brown, Vincent Gard and Zachary Lindsey....
Let me tell you straight
Look into my eyes
You know what I'll say

A burning at both ends
Candles in the night
I ain't got no shame

Now tell me where else would you go
In the morning we can fight
In the shadows of ourselves
A job is just a job
Stay a little while

Leave but I know that you want it
Cos so am I
I know that the morning is calling
for alibis
Let the night be your covering
from time to time
Leave but I know that you want it
Cos so am I

Oh if it could be on and on we said
And never turn it off
When the spirit it moves
Me into you
Let's see what we've got

Show yourself the way I wanna see
It's feeling like a crime
Lock me up for good
Throw away the key
I'll do the time

Just let it go
And stay a little while
No one will know
What's on our minds
Just let it go
And stay a little while
Just let it go

And leave but I know that you want it
Cos so am I
I know the morning is calling
For alibis
Let the night be your covering
From time to time

Leave but I know that you want it
Cos so am I
Leave but I know that you want it
Cos so am I
I know the morning is calling
For alibis
Let the night be your covering
From time to time
Leave but I know that you want it
Cos so am I

General CommentI just discovered this band about a week ago and am completely in love with their music. This may be my second favorite song by them.

I think this song is about an affair, but one that hasn't turned physical yet. I think it's about two people who have built this emotional connection to one another and are now so tempted by the physical aspect of an affair, but one of them feels too much guilt to give in.

I have no idea what this song is really about but that's what I get out of it.
