"Thursday" as written by Martin "doc" Mckinney, Abel Tesfaye and Carlo Montagnese....
I love her, today
'Cause it's Wednesday, I won't be late
Now I need to know if you're feeling when I'm free

Not on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
Sunday but on Thursday, Thursday
Not on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
Sunday but on Thursday, make sure you are thirsty
Oh on Thursday, baby get ready oh on Thursday
Whoa you hold it oh on Thursday, just wait on Thursday,
Baby only Thursday

Can I try, can I try?
I've been here for too long
Baby don't cry
When are you calling again, oh again
But it's not Thursday, baby why you calling?

Not on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
Sunday but on Thursday, Thursday
Not on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
Sunday but on Thursday, make sure you are thirsty
Oh on Thursday, baby get ready oh on Thursday
Whoa you hold it oh on Thursday, just wait on Thursday,
Baby only Thursday

Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday

My InterpretationI honestly think this song is just about the singer meeting up with up a girl only on the day Thursday (maybe because she is in a relationship?). But anyways, on any day of the week that she wants to see the singer he won't let her because Thursday is their day, which explains the song title.

My InterpretationI think maybe he's always working (he IS a celebrity after all) and maybe Thursday is his only day off. This song could mean that he knows how much she wants to see him and she wants it to be ANY day of the week but it's Thursday *no, ifs, ands, or buts) and the part when he says "Girl I try." or "Can I try?" is him consoling her for wanting and needing to see him. Basically, he's being the man and comforting her the best he can :-)
At least that's my take on it :-)
