Exercise your right to lower your standards.
Does it take you anywhere, or to anyone who cares?
Hey! Do you really wanna live like that? No!
Here are several ways to beat it. Okay!
You've got to realize you're loved.

Here is the one who's cut down by everyone but she's
hoping she'll find someone to lick her wounds now.
Instead of drooling, their just spoon-feeding,
wondering when she'll give in.
'Cos she knows its all wrong, yeah, she wants them
gone.
Are you alone?
Don't be afraid to move on.

Its like the needle, you wanna feel it
Until you've come undone and you're on your own.
Hey, little baby do you know the day goes on?
(And the sun is burning your eyes)
Hey, little baby do you know the day goes on?

Exercise your right to lower your standard
Does it take you anywhere, or to anyone who cares?
Hey! Do you really wanna be left out? No!
Do you want to be defeated? No way!
You've got to get that respect.

If there's a time to be exactly what you've aimed for,
it hasn't passed you yet.
Maybe its tough to be what they want you to be but i'd
say that you're better off living your life.
'Cos you know your own heart, yeah, you've got your
song.
We are the sun.
Don't be afraid to live on.

Its like the needle, you wanna feel it
Until you've come undone and you're on your own.
Hey, little baby do you know the day goes on?
(And the sun is burning your eyes)
Hey, little baby do you know the day goes on?

Exercise your right to lower your standards.
Does it take you anywhere?

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
