Your feelings, what they wanted you to be
You know its what they wanted you to see
Your feelings, what they wanted you to be
You’ll take it if you lose your way

All you ever wanted was to feel like you
Were something else
And all you ever wanted was to feel like you
Were something else
So cut ‘em down, hang ‘em on the walls
Lie where we first lay
This emptiness inside won’t go away

All you ever wanted was to feel like you
Were something else
And all you ever wanted was to feel like you
Were something else
So cut ‘em down, hang ‘em on the walls
Lie where we first lay
This emptiness inside won’t go away

We’ve been moving
We’ve been moving
We’ve been moving
On

Don’t try to save me
Don’t try to save my soul

General CommentBeautiful song. Poetic, rhythmic lyrics. I think the Runaway is maybe a real person, or a fictional character, maybe someone that lives inside all of us, you decide. My favorite lines are "All you ever wanted was to feel like you were something else" and "This emptiness inside won't go away." I think this song is about running away from yourself, from who you are. The repetition of lines is what I really like because it develops a sort of rhythm.
