Lipstick junkie
Debunk the all in one, she
Came back wearing a smile
Lookin' like someone drugged me
That wanted to unplug me
No one here is on trial
It's just a turnaround
And we go, oh
And then we go oh oh oh oh

Tic toc I want to
Rock you like the 80's
Cock blockin' isn't allowed
Tugboat Sheila
Is into memorabilia
Who said three is a crowd
We better get it on the go

Hey now
We've got to make it rain somehow
She told me to
And showed me what to do
Our Maggie makes it in a cloud

Hey now
We’ve got to make it rain somehow
She told me to
And showed me what to do
She knows how to make it loud

Rain dance Maggie
Advances to the final
Who knew that she had the goods
Little did I know her body
Was warm delicious vinyl
To your neck of the woods
I want to lick a little bit

You've got the wrong girl
But not for long girl
It's in the song girl
'Cause I'll be gone girl

Hey now
I want to rock this rowdy crowd
She told me to
And showed me what to do
She knows how to make it loud

But not for long girl
It's in the song girl
'Cause I'll be gone 'bye 'bye 'bye yeah
'Bye 'bye 'bye girl

General CommentThis song to me is a healthy mix between the old peppers and the new peppers. Sure it has its Flea bass lines which might remind people of "Behind the Sun" or "Higher Ground." It has the famous Kiedis lyrics that continually walk the line between enlightenment and obscurity. Chad's drum remind me of Iron's Drums from The Uplift Mofo Party Plan--Subterranean Homesick Blues or Skinny Sweaty Man. They have a synthy feel and sound. I think Josh is a great replacement for John. He has already played with the peppers so he knows how they are going to work. I have a feeling that if anyone else would have started playing with them would have been lost in the ether. The guitar does not lead this song. It plays second (and maybe even third) to original members Anthony and Flea.

I think this is what the song is about. It is the peppers acknowledging and honoring their past. They are saluting what they have done and thanking their fans for coming with them for such a long time.

"Tic-toc, I want to rock you like the 80s"-----Peppers start in 80s.

    "Cock-blocking isn't allowed.
Tug boat sheila is into memorabilia"
    and
"Little did I know her body was one delicious vinyl
To your neck of the woods
I want to lick a little bit"-----Thanks to Anthony for being a perpetual sexual being.

    "Hey now
I want to rock this valley crowd
She told me to"------Here you go fans. This is a song for you.

This song is about the mixing of old and new peppers!

Song Meaninghmmm..well ive listened to this song on a loop for some time now and ive come to a conclusion about its meaning.totally totally sex.I think its speaking about the band's crazy sex episodes with random girld from their past.
" i want to rock you like the 80scock blocking isn't allowed" kiedies was used to getting his way with the girls
"who said three is a crowd" - threesomes obviously
then he talks about Maggie and sheila fighting over him and how in the end he went for maggie
    "Rain dance Maggie
    Advances to the final
Who knew that she had the goods"
note this is the 2nd verse, after weve heard the chorus hinting at something but not quite knowing what it is. only in the 2nd verse does kiedis reveal its meaning
"Little did I know her body was one delicious vinyl
To your neck of the woods
I want to lick a little bit"
neck of your woods i want to lick a little bit..goes without saying what that means but for those not trained in the art of subtext hes talking about going down on Maggie
and only now you can understand how crazy this sex episode was as the chorus turns from simple words with no lyrics to clear record of maggie instruction to kiedis in bed:

    (Hey Now!
We’ve got to make it rain somehow)
    She told me to
And showed me what to do
Oh Maggie makes it in a cloud

maggie gives him direct instructions how to pleasure her. ive put the first 2 lines in brackets bacause they actually make more sense after "and showed me what to do". try this :
she showed him what to do in order to make it(aka her private part) "rain". rain is a metaphore for the very rare and elusive female ejaculation.

throughout the song kiedis keeps reminding us that this experience maggie gets, her time with him is limited, a one nighter:
    "But not for long girl
    It’s in a song girl
‘Cause i’ll be gone bye bye bye yeah"

thus ending his record of the time spent with this girl.

I know it all sounds pretty out there, but if you listen carefully youll see the sense behind this observation.

    Cheers :)

Song MeaningIt's about female ejaculation, and a threesome with twins, based on Anthony's real experience.

It's actually written quite well, and one of the easiest RHCP songs to understand.
    Here's the analysis: -----

    Charachters: "Me" - Anthony Kiedis.
    Rain-dance Maggie - Made up name for a fan/groupie.
Tug Boat Sheila - her twin, as we'll see in a minute.

    Story line goes:

    Verse 1 (corrected lyrics):

    Lip stick junkie
    Debunked the only one
She came back wearing a smile
    Look-alike, someone drug me
    They wanted to unplug me
No one here is on trial
    It's just a turnaround
    And we go, oh
Well then we go uh huh oh

    --meaning--

Maggie is described as a lipstick junkie.
After creating the initial connection with the Anthony, she came back (to the backstage I presume) with her "look-a-like" = twin.
He goes on to say he is not judging.

    Verse 2:
Tick tock I want to rock you
    Like the eighties
    Cock blocking isn't allowed
    Tugboat Shiela is into memorabilia
Who said three is a crowd
We better get it on the go

    -- meaning --
This describes the part leading to the threesome - the desire to satisfy (not clear who's desire, I'm assuming Anthony's). The mention of cock-blocking might suggest that both girls were interested in Anthony, and because Sheila, the twin is "into memorabilia" which I interpret as "likes to create memories", the suggested compromise is a threesome (who said 3 is a crowd).

    Chorus

We've got to make it rain somehow
    She told me to
And showed me what to do
How Maggie makes it in her cloud

    -- meaning --
Make it rain definitely has something to do with extracting gushing fluids out of a human being. My assumption is that we're talking about female ejaculations based on evidence later in the song, and this makes me believe earlier it was Anthony who was the one eager to please.

It's unclear who "told him to" and "showed him what to do, but obviously one of the girls showed Anthony how to "make it rain" and "how to make it loud" -> Make maggie orgasm, scream with joy and ejaculate.

I think "how makes it in her cloud" could be a reference to how maggie does it on her own when masturbating, the cloud being either her own world - e.g. when she's "in the zone", or simply her genitals...

    Verse 3

    Raindance Maggie
    Advances to the final
Who knew that she had the goods
    Little did I know
    Her body was one
    Delicious vinyl
    To your method the words
I want to lick a little bit

    -- meaning --

Maggie is getting closer to orgasm.

"who knew she had the good" probably reference her ability to squirt, which seems to be something not every woman is capable of.

The licking and taste references imply that cunnilingus was involved in the process of "making it rain". Not sure why he chose the word "vinyl" I think it might mean that Maggie is a black girl, but it could just be reference to how "tasty" she is - musicians are well know for their preference of the warm cozy sound vinyl records produce as opposed to digital music playing devices.

    -- summary --

I'm assuming that Mr. Kiedis is way beyon the point of being excited by just the opportunity of sex or even a threesome, being a wild rockstar for so many years.

It's interesting how for him the reason to be excited is the psychology and interaction between the two twins (or friends if you are not convinced), and by the challenge of satisfying someone else rather then himself, which of course is related to the excitement of many other men about female ejaculation as represented well by porn in the last couple of years.
