A few pictures, two tickets, from a trip we took last year
A handful of memories, some still seem clear
Few regrets, couple melodies, that remind me of you
Well, I could say that I won't miss this
But that wouldn't be the truth

There's no one here to blame and this is the only way
There's nothing left for us, to say

It's time to let you go, it's what we have to do
It's time to give this up, I think that we both knew
There's nothing left to say, there's nothing left to prove
And now it's time to turn and walk away from
What's left of me and you
What's left of me and you

Box of letters, that old t-shirt, still brings me back to you
A few more hours in the day, not sure what I should do
There's no one here to blame, and this is the only way
There's nothing left for us to say

It's time to let you go, it's what we have to do
It's time to give this up, I think that we both knew
There's nothing left to say, there's nothing left to prove
And now it's time to turn and walk away from
What's left of me and you

You were the best thing I'll ever give up
And it's hard to see the truth
When you think you're still in love
The only way to get on with my life
Is to say goodbye, so goodbye

It's time to let you go, it's what we have to do
It's time to give this up, I think that we both knew
There's nothing left to save and nothing left to prove
And now it's time to turn and walk away from
What's left of me and you
Whoa-oh-oh that's left of me and you

A few pictures, two tickets, from a trip we took last year
A handful of memories, some still seem clear

    Song Meaning

It's about a guy reflecting back on a relationship that two people are still desperately trying to cling to - whatever little is left of it. They've said everything to each other to try and save it that could've possibly been said and it still didn't work. ("There's nothing left to say, nothing left to prove"). It's not anyone's fault. It's simply broken.

Over the course of the time they've been split it up, which is roughly a year, a dying version of their relationship is still fighting for life - from both sides. Clinging desperately to not let the flame burn out completely. But he realizes that in order for them to both actually move on and forward, as excruciating as that may be, they need to cut ties completely and walk away. ("The only way to get on with my life is to say goodbye. So goodbye.")

It's about recognizing that remaining in the purgatory of a broken relationship prevents them from properly moving on with their lives and they need to say goodbye to what's left. That tiny sliver of their heart that is still holding on is still broken and is preventing them from moving on. ("Now it's time to turn and walk away from what's left of me and you.")

Trying to put what's left of a relationship out of your misery - as unbelievably hard as that is.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
