You see all black & white, like it's all so simple
You always seem, to me, like Jesus in the temple
Your reason for complete lack of tact is the letter of a law
No honest man can exact
Lately I've been waiting for something terrible to happen
Like I'm full of dread
Voices in my head from all over the whole wide world
I fall asleep dreaming & wake up to the screaming out my window
It's just a laughing little girl

Two cops in a fight on a Saturday night
On a New Year's Eve by the black & white
Outside my front door, comin' through my walls
From the street of fear in to the sacred halls of my home
I can hear the sound so clear
Of a strong black man callin' and end to the year

I can't relax while watching snow or the tree glow on the wrapping
I feel the pull of my own wool pulled over my eyes napping
There's got to be a prayer left in my that can set my spirit free
Some pride & joy left for me
She's at work I'm all alone, a holiday turned in to stone
Just like Medusa I cut loose and let my snake locks curl
Your are holier than thou, but I know I'm the fattened cow laid out for dinner
For God & His girl

Two cops in a fight on a Saturday night
On a New Year's Eve by the black & white
Outside my front door, coming through my walls
From the street of fear in to the sacred halls of my home
I can hear the sound so clear
Of a strong black man calling an end to the year

With angry shouts & sorrowful moans
With his arms stretched out to the rage of his tone
When I stepped outside it just couldn't be denied
An honest man will suffer judgment from another who's lied
I reached out in the cold to hold my hand
And I felt the ghosts & shame from the land where I stand

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
