This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
I was lost now I'm found,
I'm sustained by the sound,
Of the angels singing me to sleep,
While my feet are leaving the ground,
Am I dead? Or am I dreaming instead?
A cornucopia of opiates have flooded my head
I'm insane, I am smart,
All it takes, is a spark, to ignite my bad intentions,
And do what I do best to your heart,
Don't be fooled I was raised by the wolves,
Now the moon hangs in full, so you know I won't play by the rules
I will never spill
(spill my blood for you)
You have let me down
(one too many times)
Someway somehow, we've fallen out,
Caught in between my enemies,
No way not now, I won't back down,
I draw the line at you and me,
Your what I started, now disregarded,
One day they'll see, it was always me
Due to mistakes, I have made to the state,
I am trapped inside a Dillinger,
Diligently thinking of ways to get out of this god awful place,
I have learned that my fate is something I can't escape so,
Sound the alarm, what I've said from the start,
Is ill never let your system break me down or tear me apart,
Don't be fooled I was raised by the wolves,
Now the moon hangs in full so you know I won't
Play by the rules
I will never spill
(spill my blood for you)
You have let me down
(one too many times)
Someway somehow, we've fallen out,
Caught in between my enemies,
No way not now, I won't back down,
I draw the line at you and me,
Your what I started, now disregarded,
One day they'll see, it was always me
Oh, this is the end of you
This is where I draw the line
And I won't lose
This war is mine
Oh
Spill my blood for you
One too many times
Someway somehow, we've fallen out,
Caught in between my enemies,
No way not now, I won't back down,
I draw the line at you and me,
Your what I started, now disregarded,

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
Blue
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
Plastic Bag

Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
This song is all about Ronnie, and his thoughts surrounding the recent events in his life. He claims Escape The Fate only became big because of him. And is nothing now without him.
Now, my logic as to why Falling In Reverse will not last: Ronnie's the reason they've become big so quickly, and he knows it.
"This war is mine." The war is not his band's. It is his. Ronnie is the center of attention, and the other band members are just accessories. I know he's a front man, and this is the case for many bands, but this just goes that further. As they get bigger, the other members will want more of the spotlight, but it will all be taken by Ronnie. They will have a falling out, and the band will break up. Don't get me wrong, he's a very talented man. But he's part of a band, he isn't a one-man show.
Just my theory. :3
yea from the get go all they did was advertise that it was ronnies new band. and no one would have heard of them other wise so they really cant bitch much. they got to skip several steps that most bands have to do to get signed. hell as far as i know they didnt even have a show before they were signed. wtf?
Very True I love how after the album was finished Nason left because he thinks he got enough spot light to start his own band.. like really?
I agree with you in a sense. I don't think the band name will die, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are several changes in the rest of the band. Not gonna lie, Ronnie is the reason I like Falling In Reverse, but I got a huge question, did Ronnie recruit them or they recruited Ronnie? Because if Ronnie recruited them then technically I think the band in a sense will survive. Usually when bands are looked at we talk most about the vocalist and guitarist who are also most of the time the bands main lyricist. (I said most because there are a few like Rush where the drummer plays the biggest role in lyric writing.) So all in all the reason they got signed was because Ronnie still had a contract with Epitaph, before he was jailed he was preparing to start a new project and didn't have to worry about getting signed because his contract didn't end.
Yeah personally I do think the band has become so big is noticeably because of Ronnie, although I also think that the "This war is mine" is a play on Escape The Fate's "This War Is Ours" and how else was he supposed to say it without saying "This war is ours"? I'll say they have at least 2-3 more albums before shit goes in any issues with line-up or whatever :)
@devonodev hey guess what, they've lasted for 5 years :)
@devonodev hey guess what, it’s 2021 and they lasted, they did an online show with more than 25.000 tickets sold, so yeah, he was raised by wolves.
"I just learned that my fate is something I cant escape so"
PERFECT way to incorporate Escape the Fate in a song of retaliation.
<3333
Pretty easy to say this is about ETF. Can't wait for this album.
"Villains only of thinking of ways to get out of this God awful place."
Should be.. "Diligently thinking of ways to get out of this God awful place."
One day they'll see, it was only me"
This line shows that Escape the Fate was only good because of Ronnie
"I draw the line between you and me"
This shows that Ronnie is drawing the line between ETF
"Your what I started, know what i disregarded"
This shows that he started with them but quite
"I was lost, i was bound, i was stained, i was bound, while the angels sing me to sleep" This shows about him in prison
"This war is mine" Hes making fun of ETF
The wolves are ETF
"This shows that he started with them but quite" QUITE? do you mean Quit? If so he didn't quit.. If you think he quit get your facts straight. He got in a fight and Max came along.. Max brought a gun to the fight and blamed the whole thing on Ronnie... When he went to prison ETF kicked him out beacuse they wanted to make music while he was in prison.
"This war is mine" Hes making fun of ETF

Technically he's not making fun of ETF, The whole time Ronnie was out of ETF, There was a "war" waged between them, Now that Ronnies out, He's claiming the war is his as if hes going to take over the scene and shut ETF out.
i always thought when he said he was raised by wolves i thought it meant he's not gunna give in and he's gunna fight back against ETF
I think the line "This war is mine" is a play on words on their song "This War Is Ours"
I think the line "This war is mine" is a play on words on their song "This War Is Ours"
Chanley74, you need to get your facts straight. It was Chase Rader, one of Ronnie's friends, that fired the gun. Max's blame is that the guys ronnie was fighting were originally after him but ronnie stepped in. Ronnie was also arrested for parole violations . get ur shit straight before telling someone else to get theres straight.
I just learned that my fate is something I cant escape - obviously ETF. You're what I started, Now disregarded - He started ETF but quit like Jon said This war is mine! OH! - ETF song: This war is ours! Yeah!
Song is obv. about ETF
Yea thats what I thought too
Omg this song is so well written and witty its incredible
All it takes is a spark to ignite my bad intentions and do* what i do best to your heart
"I just learned that my fate is something I cant escape" I see this as a reference to actual FATE. The band ETF the title stood for escaping fate and Ronnie may have tried to escape FATE, but just like Karma, Fate came back and bit him in the ass.
The perfect retaliation song... ETF-This War Is Ours. Ronnie- "This War Is Mine" Now I'm a fan of both bands, however Ronnie has just absolutely smacked ETF down xD
