"Unobstructed Views" as written by Benjamin Gibbard and Christopher Walla....
There's no eye in the sky
Just our love
No unobstructed view
No perfect truths
Just our love
Just our love
And there's no verse
No monument of words
For our love
For they can't hold
All I know about my love, about my love

Storm clouds break
Pools remain memories for
Earth embrace
That umbrate up above
They become
New love
New love

There's no eye in the sky
Just our love, just our love
No unobstructed views
No perfect truths
Just our love, just our love

General CommentLove the long intro and the clear, loud vocals that pop out.

The song is about love being the center of life. Love being truly indescribable. For nothing else exists, beside it when you are so involved with another. The bond is beyond anything else we believe.

My InterpretationThere's no eye in the sky (God)
    Just our love
No unobstructed view (Our "limited" understanding of reality that many theists claim)
No perfect truths (No absolute Truth. Things are what you make of it)
    Just our love
    Just our love
    And there's no verse
    No monument of words (Bible)
    For our love
    For they can't hold
All I know about my love, about my love
(Love is a lot more than just following rules and worshiping a god. Love is about acting the best you can to people. Love is about forgiving. Love is not something that can even be captivated in a book for that would ruin the essence of love, for love is an experience. You can learn about love, but learning about love is like learning about skydiving: it just doesn't compare to the experience. The narrator knows that
he's experienced love and he knows that the verses, the monuments of words, can't accurately describe the feeling of love.)

    Storm clouds break
    Pools remain memories for
    Earth embrace
    That umbrate up above
    They become
    New love
    New love
(Shit may happen. But eventually the stormclouds break. People may have died that loved people, or perhaps the love is just gone for one reason or another, but through their memories, their pools left behind, they inspire us to love more. As the sun comes out shining upon them, they cast a shadow down below (umbrate) and when we see this shadow, when we reflect upon their love, we make new love in their stead.)

    Song MeaningStorms clouds break
(when something bad happens to us i.e. break up, lost of loved ones)
    Pools remain
    Memories flood
(the pain remains, and it floods our memory and our mind - we become affected by it)
    Earthen graves
    Evaporate
(for those who has lost everything, still have one thing left, and that is time. And with time these painful memories slow evaporate from flooding our minds - we become lighter as we slowly chip the burden of our shoulders)
    To up above
(indicating the process and cycle where rain takes place, and to everything, there is a cycle, including the grieving of our pain, and so "this too shall pass")
    Where they become
    New love
(and through this process we break free from the chains of our past)

General Commenti think ertai88 has it. as for the first verse, his love is either Zooey (undoubtedly) or a symbol or inanimate object perhaps? What I get from "There's no eye in the sky" is Ben saying there's no God as atheism is a recurring theme in the album.
