I'm not gonna waste this
This opportunity's mine
I'm sick of complaining
About a beautiful life

How did we get here?
Did we forget all the things inside?
And how do we stay here?
Do we embrace all the things denied?

I feel so alive tonight
You got me feeling sublime
I want to yell it from the rooftops down
Until it's over, and we're older

For my entertainment
You tell a whimsical lie
To keep me complacent
You knock me down with a smile

How did we get here?
How do we pretend everything's alright?
And how do we stay here?
Do we erase all the fear inside?

I feel so alive tonight
You got me feeling sublime
I want to yell it from the rooftops down
Until it's over, and we're older

Like sugar and cyanide
These worlds are gonna collide
I want to yell it from the rooftops down
Until it's over, and we're older

So take me, but go slow
Let me hide somewhere I know
And let this seed grow
Until we finally call this home
So take me, but go slow
Let me hide somewhere I know
And let this seed grow
Until we finally call this home

If I was to die tonight
Would it tear you apart?
Would you yell it from the rooftops down?
Until it's over, and you're older

I feel so alive tonight
You've got me feeling sublime
I want to yell it from the rooftops down
Until it's over, and we're older
Like sugar and cyanide
I want to make it collide
I'm gonna yell it from the rooftops down
Till it's over, and we're older

General Comment:That odd feeling you get when everything's going perfect and you feel like it should last forever... It seems to be about a relationship in this song just starting off or something along those lines.

General Comment:I don't believe this song is about a troubled relationship. I think it's about a very damaged person in a really good relationship. Even though the relationship is strong and it's good for him, he's troubled by his demons and fighting his urge to run from a good thing.

That's what I take from this song, but maybe it's because that's where I'm at. I have an awesome relationship with an awesome girl, and the only thing holding us back is me and my damage from past relationships. Every word of this song resonates with me.

General Comment:Close but no cigar, great attempt though. Here's what I got.

Lyric Correction:I got everything that rockbox got except this verse seems to sound correct:

These walls are going to collide (sounds like "our worlds are meant to collide") at the end.

Song Meaning:Sounds to me like someone is trying/wanting/needing to save their relationship. The writer seems to be questioning his/her partner's feelings or resolve (last verse), but there is hope (Chorus). Also seems to be a willingness to fix the problems with the directions to do so (the bridge).
Awesome song...it's sad and happy at the same time. I would love to know what was going on in the writers life at the time this song was written? Did someone have an affair...ect.

My Interpretation:I don't think this is about a troubled relationship, either. The way I've interpreted this song is it's about the start of something new, a new relationship yes. However, badutahboy, I agree with you to an extent. This is a girl he can connect with, that he cares about. When he's with her he's happy, and he's "fellin' sublime" but he's not used to being in a real relationship but he's willing to give her a chance he just doesn't know how to let himself get in the way of this. Even though he didn't trust himself "like sugar and cyanide, these walls are gonna collide" he still is willing to give himself to her. But he needs her to "go slow, let me hide somewhere I know." And maybe, after the seed grows they can be in a good relationship. Its just about him overcoming his fear of a real relationship.

When my ex boyfriend first listened to this song was before we were dating, and this was the song that helped push him into actually giving me a chance. It became "our song" because this explains so much about him. He didn't want to give me a chance, because he was afraid of a relationship (and I honestly believe he still is) but I was the girl to put myself out there and give myself to him, making it his decision.

It's truely a great song, and I wish I could listen to it more often.

General Comment:This actually is not about a relationship with another person, instead it's about his relationship with himself. He's rejecting his previous life-choices which included drug and alcohol abuse. It's also about overcoming the depression cause by his brother's suicide and the end of his relationship with Amy Lee.
