Sensation In The Dark.
Once upon a time I took to melody and drank it every night,
A dedicated pacifist;
No fistfights, no antagonistic knocking out lights.

Sensations in the dark

A century of shadows lifted upwards,
And discarded to thin air,
Now I could speak my mind to others' mothers,
Without blushing up to my curly hair,

Sensations in the dark

And with a bright air of madness and flair,
You introduced me to great new ideas,
So you did, so you did, that's right.
Well little, little by little we were pulled apart,
By forced come to play,
Well colour, colour, colour coded I was designated,
Emigrated out of your way,
Though we were pulled apart,
The memories outlast,
Adventures in the past,

Sensations in the dark

    General CommentLove this song.

"Sensations In The Dark" is another phrase for nightlife. Neon lights and bar chatter and whatnot. The song follows the character's different experiences with nightlife.

Verse 1 - STAYING INDOORS AT NIGHT: An introverted, peaceful, shy, nice guy. He stays indoors and "drinks melody" AKA plays music by himself at night. "No fistfights" = doesn't want to go out to bars and nightlife. Happy to be a quiet, nice musician.

Verse 2 - BECOMING MORE SOCIALLY TALENTED: Something changes. "A century of shadows lifted upwards and discarded into thin air" means that he's feeling the relief of a burden lifted, most likely his introverted ways. Now he feels comfortable enough to talk with strangers ("other's mothers") and he doesn't blush anymore, for some reason.

Verse 3 - MEETING SOMEONE, LOSING THEM, FEELING GRATEFUL TO HAVE MET THEM: Because of becoming more social, he meets someone. They introduce him to "great new ideas" and make a bond and impact with him. But over time they are pulled apart, or grow apart for whatever reason. He feels peaceful about the breakup (he's "a dedicated pacifist" remember), and remembers the relationship fondly now.

    That's my take.
