"Wonderful (The Way I Feel)" as written by and Marcel Mardello....
It matters to me
Took a long time to get here
If it would have been easy
I would not have cared

Like a tropical forest
Like a cop on the beat
When all is order
You get lost in the heat

I feel so wonderful, wonderful, wonderful the way I feel
I feel so wonderful, wonderful, wonderful the way I feel

Doesn't matter to me
I could take it or leave it
I can learn from way back when
And still live right now

With the sun on my shoulder
And the wind in my back
I will never grow older
At least not in my mind

I feel so wonderful, wonderful, wonderful the way I feel
I feel so wonderful, wonderful, wonderful the way I feel
So wonderful, wonderful the way I feel
I feel so wonderful, wonderful, wonderful the way I feel

I'm going where there ain't no fear
I'm going where the spirit is near
I'm going where the living is easy
And the people are kind
A new state of mind

I'm going where there ain't no police
I'm going where there ain't no disease
I'm going where there ain't no need
To escape from what is
Only spirits at ease

    General CommentLOVE this song!

I think this song is coming from someone who knows their time is near and they are at peace with that. Through all the hard times and good they are happy with the way they have lived their life, and now they know they will be at rest.

Just my take. Hope I'm right, but love it even if I'm wrong.

General CommentI think this song is about meditation and reaching a peaceful place where you don't grow old, the living is easy and the spirit is near. He says it took him a long time to get there, meaning to learn to successfully meditate and if it were easy, he wouldn't have cared. If everything were in order, there would be no need for meditation. Jim James recommends meditation all the time and recently recommended "Inner Art of Meditation" by Jack Kornfield if any of you are interested.

My InterpretationWhen the "Circuital" cd came out and I started listening to this song, at first I thought he was talking about the success that he and the other guys in MMJ had achieved. "It matters to me...took a long time to get here...if it would've been easy, I would not have cared." But then he starts singing, "I'm going where there ain't no fear, I'm going where the spirit is near, I'm going where the living is easy, and the people are kind, a new state of mind. I'm going where there ain't no police, I'm going where there ain't no disease, I'm going where there ain't no need to escape from what is, only spirits at ease."

Those lyrics let me know that he wasn't talking about the hard work it took for his band to make it. Those lyrics speak of the peace of Heaven, or something comparable. It's hard to be sure of what he was thinking of when he wrote these lyrics. One thing I do know for sure. Our messed up world should be listening to positive uplifting music like this during these times when policemen are being shot while putting gasoline in their cars.

My InterpretationI feel like this song is about dealing with death. Especially with someone who has had a long illness like cancer.

Reaching the end of life and not being scared.

Song MeaningHere is a person who has reached nirvana and fully expects not to return to our world as it is. He may only be envisioning his own, but perhaps includes species, evolution or ascension. This perspective may or may not be inspired by a religion.
