"Bloom" as written by Samuel Alexander Bentley and Christina Lacy....
In the morning when I wake
And the sun is coming through,
Oh, you fill my lungs with sweetness,
And you fill my head with you

Shall I write it in a letter?
Shall I try to get it down?
Oh, you fill my head with pieces
Of a song I can't get out

Can I be close to you?
Oh-oh-oh-ooh, ooh
Can I be close to you?
Ooh, ooh

Can I take it to a morning
Where the fields are painted gold
And the trees are filled with memories
Of the feelings never told?

When the evening pulls the sun down,
And the day is almost through,
Oh, the whole world it is sleeping,
But my world is you

Can I be close to you (Ah)?
Ooh (aah), ooh (aah)
Can I be close to you (Ah)?
Ooh (aah), ooh (aah)

Can I be close to you (Ah)?
Ooh (aah), ooh (aah)
Can I be close to you (Ah)?
Ooh (aah), ooh (aah)

Can I be close to you?
Ooh, ooh

General CommentI can't believe this song has no comments. It is such a beautiful song and a beautiful video. I feel like the song is about a relationship and being so in love with someone you can't get enough of them. They are your world. You want to tell them how you feel, but you can't collect the words. You want to get closer with them but you're afraid. Hopefully you tell them because chances are they feel the same. <3 Love this song.

General CommentThis song is so effortlessly beautiful. It reminds me of a quote from Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist where Tom is explaining to Nick that The Beatles "got it right" with the track I Want to Hold Your Hand because that is all anyone ever want to do, hold your hand. All anyone wants to be is close to you in that moment. This is one of the best love songs that I have ever heard.

My InterpretationWarning: cheesy interpretation, but true :P

So, when I first heard this, I fell in love with it...such a beautiful song! My thoughts at that point were that it's just a love song. I didn't listen to it for a while, but then I remembered it & really listened to the words this time around. My boyfriend just asked me out, and it's my first relationship, and I'm bad at opening up to people and being close to them, so when I listened to this song then, then I thought "can I be close to you?" as in "I'm scared to open up and that I won't be able to love you the way I know I can."

I told you...cheesy, but I think the song is just about liking this person so much, so much that they are all you can think about ("you fill my head with pieces of a song I can't get out"/"the whole world it is sleeping, but my world is you"); and not wanting to mess it up or not being able to love them because of something you aren't able to do.

My Interpretationits about having a crazy crush on someone clearly.

hence, " can i be closer to you " and "trees are filled with memories
Of the feelings never told? "

the song simply talks about all the things that happens to you when you have a crush on someone, all your feelings that you are too scared to tell that person how you feel and it is that, that drives you insane. lovely song

General CommentWhat a sweet song. It's innocent nature reminds me a lot of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" by the Beatles.

Song MeaningYou may have other ideas but I think that this song is about someone who wants to get closer to someone they know but is too scared to go and ask them out.

Throughout the song they keep asking questions, 'Shall I write it in a letter?
Shall I try to get it down? Can I be close to you?'. To me it sounds like they are watching one of their friends trying to find the courage to ask them out.

They spend their whole day thinking about this person, 'And you fill my head with you.'.

General Commentthis song is so cheesy beautiful!
i think it's about being so in love that it consumes you. you just want to spend every living, breathing moment with this person. You just want to go and show them the world, be awake with them every second. It's about an intense desire to be one with someone else. From when 'the sun is coming through' till 'the whole world is sleeping' you want to be with the person you love.

General CommentPossibly one of the best aspects of this track is that it screams vulnerability. Waking up next to someone in the morning, wanting to write songs about them, and of course the innocent question of, "can I be close to you?" I love that, because true and honest love is all about vulnerability and giving into someone, knowing that it may turn out badly. This is the only song I know that captures that certain fright and excitement at the same time; the knowledge when you know you're in the deep end of falling in love with someone and you want it so desperately, but you're not sure if you can take it or not.

General CommentBeautiful and simple song. I believe it is about wanting to tell someone that you can't stop thinking about them and how they fill you up with good feelings but not sure how you should tell them.

Song MeaningIf you watch the video, it looks different than my interpretation of the song which is the feeling you have when you're in love with someone.

The video tells you how the thread much like the invisible thread in life that connects and leads you to meet your destiny. And that's what I get coming to the end of the video. It's about meeting your destiny. The tree at the end of the video relates to the title of song "Bloom". From their union, the tree will grow and produce something fruitful in their life. The tree is symbol for their life together. Tree of life.

So, I think the video shows you more about the meaning of this song.
