"Stand" as written by and Devin Townsend...
So what ya gonna do about me?
I been hangin' 'round a while
Trading books and knowing glances
I thought I'd stick around
But this really ain't my style

So this ain't heaven on earth
Looks like we'll have to wait
But we are standing at the gate
I took a look inside your attic
And secret shelves and hidden rooms
It didn't scare me when I saw it
Your hidden attic is no temple of doom

So what ya gonna do about me?
Put me on a secret shelf?
I want to change myself around
You know I'd do it
If I thought that it would help

My InterpretationPersonally I think this song is about addiction and taking a "stand" against it. The part, "some find heaven" deals with how people turn to religion for dealing with an addiction. And "I've come face to face with myself" means he's had to fight himself with the part that wants to get better against the part that wants to give in. "I will not go" and "I will let go" are his two halves conflicting to choose their action. Then the part of "I'm letting go" is him losing the fight to temptation but is then reinvigorated when he says "And I will never back down....Do you hear me?".

General CommentMikael's part(s) in this song are phenomenal. Then again, all the guest appearances on this album are glorious. Wonderful work.

General CommentSuch an immense song- I'm feeling elements of different bits of his material at around 8 mins I get such a vibe of his classic signature sound underneath the beginnings of Decon madness.

    ... Ready?

General Commentthe intro of the main character and his normal life, before ziltoid declares his attack on the planet.

you meet him as a normal factory engineer worker with a normal family.

he could really care less about his family or his life, as he harbors dark thoughts of humanity.

he spends day and night trying to discover the secrets of the universe himself, writing equations.
however, one stands out, one that has potential to save the world.

    General CommentI may be taking this literally;

    "Some find heaven,
    ...In sevens and elevens"

May describe panning for change, looking for you next "fix".
