@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Does anyone else think the album is as follows? Reason to Believe: Loses faith in a god, and has no reason to believe. Screaming Bloody Murder: His sarcastic interpretation of people telling him what would happen if he doesn't believe. Skumfuk: How he is now acting with his new found freedom away from religion. Time For You To Go: Lets the one person who cares about him go because of his freedom. Jessica Kill: A girl who represents the seven deadly sins who poisons him. What Am I to Say: His pleas to the person who cared about him who is no longer there, as he dies, the person doesn't know and therefore won't help him. Holy Image of Lies: He is dying and crossing into hell. He realizes what has to be done on earth. Sick of Everyone: His contempt for everyone who let him end up in hell and his animosity towards them. Happiness Machine: The world and how he sees all the superficial things that controlled his life and got him there. Crash: He is found by his best friend just as his spirit/soul/(whatever you choose to believe) reenters his body. He wants to be held and confesses what he must do to die in peace. He knows what he has to correct and redeem himself. Blood In My Eyes: He's dead, but he is killing the evils in himself, and probably Jessica Kill, his murderer. Baby You Don't Wanna Know: He kills Jessica Kill and buries her despite her wanting to know what is happening. She dies at the end of the song. Back Where I Belong: Wherever he is, he knows that's where he must dig his own grave and bury himself in to die and rest in peace. Exit Song: He is in his coffin, still alive and aware of everything. Everyone notices he's gone, he knows he must die this way and departs for the last time from his body and leaves the human world.

Firstly, I hear someone's last thoughts:
The piano and tempo at the start gives the feeling like everything is going in slow motion after a literal crash. In all of the turmoil and chaos everywhere, there is one person who is dying but phases out of it all thinking of the person he loves.
Then I see the "crash" of a relationship:
The moment when one or both people in a relationship realise there is no chance of being happy with the other person. Even though they are hurting immensely, they still care deeply for the other person and just want them to move on and find happiness with someone else.
I wonder why anyone hasn't concluded that this song is about his divorce with Avril.

I heard that this song is about a car "crash" that Deryck witnessed and it is in the perspective of the person laying in the road having their last thoughts before they die.

In a video before when they were writing screaming bloody murder whibley was talking about one of his ideas that there is a song from the perspective of someone leaving this world and looking back on it. I'm guessing this is it. He probably died in a car crash hence the title though i'm not sure if he has died yet. he says "the time i've got is runnin' out" sugesting he is still alive while the way he says it it sounds liek he's certain he's dead and he wishes he was still alive, "i just want to feel...". anyway great song
This is a really sad song, I imagine a man bleeding, hurt on the floor and dying with the love of his life in his arms, waiting for the the paramedics yet knowing that's he's not going to make it....
It could very well be taken literally, like the whole story of how he witnessed a car crash. But I think it could be his perspective on a past relationship (no it doesn't have to be avril like so many people are saying) with the line "I supposed to grow old with you, but that aint going to happen" and "I don't want to go, But it's time I got to say goodbye, So hold me now 'Cause this will be our last time"

I could be wrong but to me it seems like none of it is about a break up directly but about being in a situation in which the person is close to death and there is no way out.
He wishes he didn't separate with whoever because there is no one he'd want at his side during this situation more. Other parts are about his last thoughts such as "I don't wanna die" but it is mainly about how he won't be with his partner and he has missed out on living life with someone he loved and that in a near death situation, this will be the biggest regret of all.
This is just what I get from reading through it and I could go into more detail but you get what I mean and like I said, I could be wrong.
