"Sarah Smiles" as written by Spencer James Smith, Brendon Boyd Urie and John Feldmann....
I was fine, just a guy living on my own,
Waiting for the sky to fall.
Then you called and changed it all, doll.

Velvet lips and the eyes to pull me in.
We both know you'd already win.
Mm, your original sin.

You fooled me once with your eyes, now, honey,
You fooled me twice with your lies, and I say,

Sarah smiles like Sarah doesn't care,
She lives in her world, so unaware.
Does she know that my destiny lies with her?

Sarah,
(Sarah, Sarah, Sarah)
Oh Sarah,
(Sarah)
Are you saving me?

Waking up to a kiss and you're on your way.
I'd really hoped that you would stay,
But you left and went your own way, babe.
I don't mind, take your time, I got things to do
Besides sit-around-and-wait-for-you.
Oh and I hope you do too.

You fooled me once with your eyes, now, honey,
You fooled me twice with your lies, and I say,

Sarah smiles like Sarah doesn't care,
She lives in her world, so unaware.
Does she know that my destiny lies with her?

Sarah,
Oh Sarah,
Are you saving me?

It's killing me inside!
Consuming all my time,
You've left me blind!
And when I think I'm right,
You strip away my pride,
You cast it all aside, but I say,

Sarah smiles like Sarah doesn't care,
She lives in her world so unaware.
Does she know that my destiny lies with her,

Sarah,
(Sarah)
Oh Sarah,
(Sarah)
Are you saving me?

General CommentI read in a review that this song is about Brendon's girlfriend?
lol I didn't even know he had a girlfriend xD I hope they're happy together? It sounds like Sarah is mean to him in the song? Or what I think, he hopefully waits for her to notice what he thinks they have together? lol I hope she's not using him >__<

My OpinionAt first I couldn't take this song seriously because it's about Brendon's girlfriend (I have nothing against her, it just felt off to have a love song sung by Brendon for some reason). But now I'm in love with it. I like it when he sings words like "Doll" "Honey" and "Babe". Haha.

But this would be really awkward if they broke up (hopefully they don't.) I think that's why I couldn't take this seriously at first. Panic! just doesn't look like the type to put a love song on an album.

Anyway, beautiful song but pretty straightforward. I like the intro. It feels vaudevillean and baroque.

General CommentThe words "doll" and "babe" are said sarcastically, or is this just me? And the song is strange, I don't think it's a love song........ It's more like "she is so naive and unaware, she doesn't know how much I love her and how much her not knowing hurts me".

Sarah smiles (smiles innocently) like Sarah doesn't care (living her own life on a pink cloud, not seeing all the hurt and pain around her)

She lives in a world so unaware (same story, she only sees what she wants to see and that is the good part of this world. Rainbows, ice cream, go on like that.)

Please say so if you totally disagree!:)

General Commentit sounds like this song is based off of the book "The French Lieutenant's Woman." if it is, that would make me so happy; i love that book. :)

General CommentYea, this is about Brendon's girlfriend (now I should say fiance). When he writes "I don't mind take your time I got things to do, besides sit around and wait for you" he means it in that when he met Sarah, she already had a boyfriend.

General CommentI think Brendon's talking about how he's attracted to Sarah's innocence and joy and he gradually becomes addicted to it. Especially when he says how she doesn't know of "their destiny lies with her" he pretty much points out that their meeting was fate for them to be together [forever]. Such an adorable song!
