I see you coming in the back door-
I feel it changing when you enter the room.
You keep a little bit of distance,
You keep a little bit of this, are you down?

I get a lot from the front, are you-
I get a fifth from the beat, 'cause I love.
I need another bit of ransom-
I need another bit of ransom, honor.

Take me with you girl, to the bathroom stall-
I wanna ride with you tonight.
Take me with you babe, to the darkest part-
I wanna be with you tonight, are you down?

I see you talking to your girlfriend-
I see you pointing at the back of the room.
You need a little bit of vision,
You need a little bit of broth in the soup.

I get a bit from the front, are you-
I got a fifth from the beat, 'cause I love.
You need another bit of ransom-
You need another bit of ransom, honor.

Take me with you girl, to the bathroom stall-
I wanna ride with you tonight.
Take me with you babe, to the darkest part-
I wanna be with you tonight, are you down?

Take me with you girl, to the bathroom stall-
I wanna ride with you tonight.
Take me with you babe, to the darkest part-
I wanna be with you tonight, are you down?

Take me with you babe, to the bathroom stall-
I wanna ride with you tonight.
Take me with you girl, to the darkest part-
I wanna be with you tonight, are you down?

Are you down?
Are you-
Oh lovers, they go astray-
Oh lovers, they go astray.

Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
