Step on it please
Ya bastard
I'm in the leaves
I'm lacerating the green
And tryna roll up some weed
She been a cobra to keep
We got a rope as a wreath
Im tryna choke an stop breathin'

It's quiet out in that space
Time flys when you on space time
It's high time I'm on space time
Space time space time

Beat up that beat
An it screech
(Yeah)
Beat up that beat
An it reek
(Yeah)
Think about me as you goin to sleep
Innocuous thoughts that come as a dream
I walk to the top of the hill an I scream
I rob a lil thot of her dream an then drown in the sea
What is the matter with me
Where is the blaster I keep
It's right by the ladder
Fool
Backflip off a hash hit to the moon
Wax lit off the gooms
Goons

Baccy bit back a bit
Get got by that goth
He talk an he grin
This taccy ass thot
The rip city kid
But a piston he grip
An a switch as he dodge

Checkin' the windows
I'm boutta show you to heaven
I got a loaded eleven
I got a note on my bed
An it go over the steps
On how to throw some elec
Trick a lil bitch into bed
An give her kiss on the head

An then I wake up
An it's terror
I gotta share how the world ends
Prepare an find the last fuck that you're gonna have
You come an you're sad

It's quiet out in that space
Time flys when you on space time
It's high time I'm on space time
Space time space time

It's high time I'm on space time
Cus another time wouldnt work
The government controls earth
But space that shits my turf
If NASA moves they asses further
Imma turn them back space dust
From the cosmos with some love
But the black hole give no fuck

See back then I put a peak up
An the geeks wanna be friends
Back then I put ug's up
Then the g's seemed to come in
So the g's we breathin in
So we peak forever
I gotta breath or I'll be dead

Now I can breath
I can explain
My quick piece
About the life we retain
The stars are all cheap
On the sky is a sheet
Deceive the people
Tell em call
Your fuckin neighbors a sheep

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
