"Surrender" as written by Andrea Wasse and Jason Smith....
Secret, hidden underneath it
Trying hard to keep it
Safely out of reach
Creeping, I can feel it breathing
Calling to the surface
Finally in my dreams

Sweet despair feel you devour me
Silently, oh won't you carry me
Home

Taken down I give into what I can't disguise
I surrender, I surrender
Broken down, I give into what I can not have
I surrender, I surrender

Locked in, buried under my skin
Riding on the whispers, restless in the wind
Hunted, I can feel it coming
Keep me under cover in what could of been

Sweet despair feel you devour me
Silently, oh won't you carry me
Home

Taken down I give into what I can't disguise
I surrender, I surrender
Broken down, I give into what I can not have
I surrender, I surrender

Don't make a sound now
Don't make a sound now
Maybe it won't find us after all

Carry, me, home

Taken down I give into what I can't disguise
I surrender, I surrender
Broken down, I give into what I can not have
I surrender, I surrender

Don't make a sound now
Don't make a sound now
I surrender, I surrender

Don't make a sound now
Don't make a sound now
I surrender, I surrender

Broken down I give in, I give in
I surrender, I surrender

My InterpretationThis seems like its about a love affair where one person has been keeping the other at arm's length, but are now finally giving into their possibly forbidden desire for them ("taken down I give in to what I cannot have").They somehow think that they can't be with the other person - that getting involved with them will only end in tragedy ("sweet despair feel you devour me") - but they're having a moment of weakness/finally are succumbing to their feelings for this person. It seems like they'd tried to be distant, hide their feelings ("taken down, I give in to what I can't disguise") and keep their heart closed off ("secret, hidden underneath it, trying hard to keep it safely out of reach"), but ultimately failed ("I surrender" & "I give in").

This reminds me of Varen & Isobel from the Nevermore series by Kelly Creagh. Both started out disliking each other because they were different; he's a goth (an outcast) and she's a cheerleader (popular girl). I think Varen even hated her or at least the crowd she hung out with, but then he eventually grew to care for Isobel as they got to know each other more. He tried to ignore what was growing between them, but he began to dream about her ("finally in my dreams") and - without wanting to - fell in love with her.

My InterpretationHeard this song in the movie "The Roommate" and I had to download it. :) Anyway to me this song is about giving in to something stronger than you are. Like.. A temptation or a feeling of lust. You try to ignore it but in the end you're not strong enough and you surrender. Sultry song I think.

My InterpretationI think this song is about a person who committed or was an accomplice to some kind of crime. The weight of the guilt on the person's shoulders is too much.
"Creeping, I can feel it breathing,
    Calling to the surface,
    Finally in my dreams."

i don't know much about song interpretation but when i feel guilty, i think about what i did constantly, especially because my dreams seem to revolve around it.
Also, you know in TV when a character is guilty they feel like everyone knows what they did, like hearing someone whisper that they are to blame. That paranoia is what i think "Locked in, Buried under my skin
Riding on the whispers, Restless in the wind" mean.

The person in the song is prevented from going back home or the way things used to be because of their actions, their crime.

    "Don't make a sound now
    I surrender..I surrender.."
Here i think the person is in a dilemma. They don't want to keep the secret of what they did but don't want to face the consequences by the authorities.

"Taken down I give into what I can't disguise.
    I surrender..I surrender
Broken down, I give into what I can not have..
    I surrender..I surrender"

Finally, i think the person is so overwhelmed by their guilt that they surrender themselves because the punishment wont be as bad as moving on knowing what they got away with.

My InterpretationI think this song is about someone who has been really hurt by someone else and is going to take revenge knowing it is not the right thing to do. The song was featured on Pretty Little Liars which gave me the idea.

    "Secret, hidden underneath it
    Trying hard to keep it
    Safely out of reach
Creeping, I can feel it breathing
    Calling to the surface
    Finally in my dreams"
She tries to put away her anger and feelings of hate but they keep crawling back up.

"Taken down I give into what I can't disguise"
Again her hatred for this person.

"Keep me under cover in what could of been"
She pretends like nothing happened to avoid suspicion.

    "Don't make a sound now
Maybe it won't find us after all"
Maybe she can move on if she stops hating this person so much.
