"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him.
There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
Lately I've been stuck imagining
What I wanna do and what I really think
Time to blow out
Be a little inappropriate
'Cause I know that everybody's thinking it
When the lights out
Shame on me
To need release
Uncontrollably
I, I, I wanna go-o-o all the way-ay-ay
Taking out my freak tonight
I, I, I wanna show-ow-ow
All the dir-irt-irt
I got running through my mind
Whoa, oh, oh
I, I, I wanna go-o-o all the way-ay-ay
Taking out my freak tonight
I, I, I wanna show-ow-ow
All the dir-irt-irt
I got running through my mind, woah-oh
Lately people got me all tied up
There's a countdown waiting for me to erupt
Time to blow out
I've been told who I should do it with
To keep both my hands above the blanket
When the lights out
Shame on me
To need release
Uncontrollably
I, I, I wanna go-o-o all the way-ay-ay
Taking out my freak tonight
I, I, I wanna show-ow-ow
All the dir-irt-irt
I got running through my mind
I, I, I wanna go-o-o all the way-ay-ay

All the dir-irt-irt
I got running through my mind
Whoa oh oh

The Night We Met
Lord Huron

This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
I Can't Go To Sleep

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
lately, i've been stuck imagining what i wanna do, and what i really think. time to blow out. be a little inappropriate, cuz i know that everybody's thinkin it when the light's out.
this is her way of saying that she hasn't had control of her life, so shes just thinking about what she wants to do with life. her thoughts are controlled. 'time to blow out' is her way of saying shes done imagining and shes gonna live her life how she wants to' 'be a little inappropriate cuz i know that everybody's thinkin it when the lights out' is self explanatory since all of you guys seem to think that this is about masturbation. everyone expects her to do something 'inappropriate' so shes going to just to mock.
shame on me, to need release, uncontrollably,
this is her saying that she needed to do her and live her life the way she wants to and all the judgement. shes basically saying 'shame on me' for living my life the way she wants to.
i i i wanna go o o all the wa a ay, takin out my freak tonight i i i wanna sho o ow all the dirt i got runnin through my mind. woah.
she wants to go 'all the way' meaning she wants to live her life completely the way SHE wants to. shes gonna call all the way on being herself. 'i wanna show all the dirt i got running through my mind' is she is gonna start speaking her mind.
lately, people got me all tied up there's a countdown waiting for me to erupt, time to blow out. i've been told i should deal with it and keep both my hands above the blanket when the light's out
the first 3 lines is saying that people need to stop living in the past. just because she lost her way in the past does not mean that she is that destructive of her life anymore and that she has grown up and now its her time to prove everyone wrong. the next two lines mean that shes been told to just deal with it instead of stating how she feels. to bite her tongue. to keep her mouth shut. to not take any action.
that's what i got from the lyrics of this song. its more like piece of me than touch of my hand.
Males (Savan, Max, Johan) wrote the lyrics; not Britney.
I hear "I i i wanna show o ow all the dirt I got runnin' through my mind" in the chorus.
This song is amazing though, probably my fave on FF.
I love this song!
I love the little whistle beat in the part: "shame on me, to need release, uncontrollably."
Yea I agree, it's "di-ir-irt" not "thoughts"
It's Britney's second song on masturbation. It's very catchy and fun.

yes it definitley "Dirt i got running through my mind"... Love this jam! prob my Fav on Femme Fatale as well. It's so catchy and runs through my head all day long haha
I actually thought she was saying "taken on my victim now" but its "taken out my freak tonight"..
Lately I've been stuck imagining What I wanna do and what I really think, time to blow out Be a little inappropriate Cuz I know that everybody's thinking it when the light's out
Shame on me - to need release - uncontrollably
I-I-I wanna go-o-o all the wa-a-ay, taking out my freak tonight I-I-I wanna sho-o-ow all the de-e-irt I got running through my mind, whoa I-I-I wanna go-o-o all the wa-a-ay, taking out my freak tonight I-I-I wanna sho-o-ow all the de-e-irt I got running through my mind, whoa
Lately people got me all tied up There's a countdown waiting for me to erupt, time to blow out I've been told who I should do it with To keep both my hands above the bla-blanket when the light's out
Does anyone hear fiend instead of freak?
Who doesn't love a good masturbation song?!? loved "touch of my hand." and LOVE this song!!!!! GO BRITNEY!
I do believe it "taking out my fiend" and "control the bleed"
Another Max Martin masterpiece - I think the singles off "Femme Fatale" are so underrated.
