We're jumping out of our skins tonight
Something took my brain for a ride
Now we're carving out your name
But forgot just how to say it
Guess it's off to bedlam for now
I'll have to call you later

Tried to tell my friends
but they don't understand
Batmen jumping down all the time
They grab me by the legs
And tear out all my veins
And hang me by the neck till I die
I'll have to call you later

General CommentThis song reminds me of when I used to do a ton of drugs all the time, haha. Something taking your "brain for a ride" is a good way to describe psychedelic experiences. You can forget even the names of your closest friends. The line about "I'll have to call you later" really strikes a nerve with me. There were plenty of times when someone would call me to hang out, or even a few times because they needed help, and I was too fucked up to help them out, or sometimes even to talk on the phone.
The second "verse" makes me think about when my friends would try to help. None of them had ever really done anything besides get drunk or stoned every now and then, and I felt like they didn't understand why I wanted to get high. They tried to make me stop, a few times knocking me into really bad trips by freaking me out. The words just really describe how I felt.
I've got my habits under control now, but this song always makes me feel funny. I don't know if that's at all what this song's about, but when you're on drugs, you tend to form associations like that a lot more easily.
