Its been going on days now
And I’m still falling over every word you say now
And there’s a car outside with your bags inside
And pretty soon you’ll say goodbye
Well I know that I can’t stop you
No matter just how bad I want to
And I’m so sure that I’ll survive
In this ghost town here without you

Baby turn around
There’s someone you forgot
When you packed your bags and left town tonight
And I’m losing sleep
I need you here with me

I’ve been sitting on my door step waiting (waiting)
And I can’t help but to playback
All the words that you’ve been saying
You said you needed to leave for good
And somehow I thought you never would
Now you’re gone and this is real
Nothing can change the way you feel
(The way you feel)
And it’s hard to admit but I still can’t get over it
(The way you feel)
There’s a photo of us and I can’t let go of it

Baby turn around
There’s someone you forgot
When you packed your bags and left town tonight
And I’m losing sleep
I need you here with me

When the morning comes
I’ll try my best to get up
But I can barely breathe
Without you here with me

WHOA
So when you’re walking away from me
I hope you never find a bedroom where you’d rather be
And when you’re looking back on memories
I hope I can be the boy that made it hard to breathe
And when I walking on the same old streets
I’m only thinking of the selfish boys you’ll meet
And when they’re singing along baby
I got ‘em moving to the rhythm beneath my feet

Baby turn around
There’s someone you forgot
When you packed your bags and left town tonight
And I’m losing sleep
I need you here with me
When the morning comes
I’ll try my best to get up
But I can barely breathe
Without you here with me

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
