"Both Sides Are Even" as written by and Todd Howe Nathan Nicholson....
You don't need a reason
For I know that, what I've done is wrong
No one there to (warn) you
About the way that (our moment's go)

It's the same, right or wrong
It's the same thing, right or wrong

These are my (suspensions)
And I'll never know how this was (a lost cause)
And both sides are even
They are even (and alone)

It's the same, right or wrong
It's the same thing, right or wrong

Ah...

And both sides are even
They are even (and alone)
And both sides are even
They are even (and alone)

It's the same, right or wrong
It's the same thing, right or wrong
It's the same thing, right or wrong

General CommentThe band explained the song's meaning to Clash Magazine: "The song is about a relationship tug-of-war - about two people at loggerheads and unable to move forward. It's the age old idea that in a relationship there always needs to be a bit of give and take or each person will end up waving their flag alone. 'Both sides are even, they are even and alone. It's the same thing right or wrong.'"
