Kool A.D:

Innocent eyes like that of a turtle
Purple nurple, titty twister, wet willie
My fuzzy verbal math is silly but cute
A fat gerbil, eleven-foot-eight dot com
Hot mom, Dodge Caravan, monster truck wheels
Who cares man?
New chairman Mao
But dumb gun shy, dumb guy
Run blind towns with one eye
Buy any child, popstar malfunctions
All-black Maybachs turn to pumpkins in 20-12
Orwelly-well in a belly shirt
R. Kelly, Kirk hand me shreddy bananas
Damn, blood

Heems:

Damn blood

I'm laid back to the max like why gild a lily
Rock shows from Philly to the billy-billy
For silly kids who burn phillies
Swishers, dutchies, to Indian masters
Put the ghetto blaster on top of Mount Chaster
Vijay, hiya
DR, it's free jazzmataz
Cream on your ass like a minority dad
Minorities mad, who you foolin b?
White people's skin is their jewellery

Kool A.D.

Hah! Good Hi-mami!
Manouevering is nothing new to me

Manouevering's nothing new to me, Cuban b
Coke and a baloney
You people so Ponyboy
My chill man Randy
Scandalous savages more noble
Porno, global cornerstore
'Pedia light, mosquito bite
Peter springing in politics is no fun for young guns
Young ones want fun
Give it to em, take it from em, make em want it
Wake n' bake
One take Jake's takin bacon from em

Heems:

I'll take one of your chicks
Straight from under your armpit
The brown Brad Pitt, Mark Ruffalo
Something like the Duff Man, tough man
Duff your mans like W's man
Yoga fire, copyright infringement
Kids is getting it in
Babies having babies
Navy coloured aves
Maybe you could pay me
Cyber-bully lame bands
Til they murk themselves
Work themselves up over nothing
Bumpin something
Cooler than we're bumpin your tape-player
Play em great, stay away
Rare flare mayor, good luck
Hooligans packin toolies, acting unruly
Fiji Water, Greek disease, please
All I need is cess and a cool breeze
Maybe some palm trees
Leaves to eat
And a roof over my dome, a home

Kool A.D.:

Alone, Macaulay Culkin, stardogs
Don't even go there again, girlfriend
There's your man
Spray-tanning Dakota Fanning at the Getty Gas Station
Plenty cash-making
Chucky Cheese, mouse-trap, starpower
Nap 20 minutes like Da Vinci did
Lewinski lips on the frisbee
Quick, look, it's the Dixie Chicks
RIS-D, bricks, dizzy, get with me
If you want it
And if you don't want it, then don't!

Heems:

I won't!

Brother code, scope foes
Ace Ventura, seventh grade humor-tumor
Family Guy quoted for laughs, you payed out
See something, spray something
Get sprayed out
No way out
My senorita, que lo que?
Like no way Jose, dime lo hombre
Que fue?
This is your brain on drugs, fryin
The white man like Simba, Mufasa, lion
If I'm lying I'm dying
Trying, buying time
More the Rafiki type
Freaky-deaky type
Poo-poo pee-pee type,
Tonight get light
Get right, right in the head

Kool A.D.:

New Jamba Juice is my house
New my house is your house
My new mouth is your blouse
My GMail spoken-word poetry to a cloud
That Dick Cheney made with his brainpiece
Diplo's drunk ass approved it
We're bringing back all that smart shit
That's actually stupid
I'm actually pooping in my hand
And throwing it at Superman
Spiderman versus X-Men
Who's gonna win?
Tannins, Obama
Structural, still, what's it all mean?
Bear Vazquez, paws/pause
I wear Vazquez on my head sometimes
Don't ask me where
Ask me if you can buy some and how much it is
It's just to put me on a bucket list

If you don't like this song go suck a dick!
This is the best song ever!
Better than Juicy, better than Fur Elise!
Better than any song made by Jay-Z!
Better than Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear!

(That's a pretty good song, right?
You like that one?)

Uh, it's better than...
The intro song to Peewee Herman...
It's better than.... uh....

alright!

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
