"In The Mourning" as written by Hayley Williams and Taylor York...
you escape like a runaway train
off the tracks and down again
my hearts beating like a steam boat tugging,
all your burdens
on my shoulders

in the mourning i'll rise
in the mourning i'll let you die
in the mourning. all my worries

now there's nothing but time that's wasted
and words that have no backbone
oh the whole world
seems to be waiting
can you hear the, echoes fading

in the mourning i'll rise
in the mourning ill let you die
in the mourning. all my sorry's.

And it takes all my strength
not to dig you up from the ground in which you lay
the biggest part of me
you were the greatest thing
and now you're just memory
to let go of.

in the mourning i'll rise
in the mourning ill let you die
in the mourning. all my sorry's.

in the mourning i'll rise
in the mourning ill let you die
in the mourning. all my sorry's.

My InterpretationProbably about Josh & Zac leaving/the conflicts that lead to it, but basically I think it's about having a hard time to let go of something or someone, but at the same time you want to and come to terms with knowing you have to. It's the wordplay on the word morning, spelling it as mourning but using it as a noun "in the morning" kind of gives away - that it's sadness but with hope. mourning means sadness, morning symbolically means a brand new day/the hope that comes with it. Just my opinion. :)

General CommentThe song obviously is pointing towards the situation with the Farro brothers splitting from the remaining members, but even so, I really love this song. The lyrics are clever and easy to relate to and the guitar part is very pretty as well. I can't wait to hear this in a full band version.

Lyric CorrectionThere's a new bridge of the song, it's this one:

"And it takes all my strenght
    Not to dig you up
from the ground in which you lay
    the biggest part of me
    You were the greatest thing
And now you're just a memory
    to let go of"

General CommentSong is definitely about the departure of the Farro brothers, but the lyrics can be applied to a broken relationship you are trying to get over.

Incredible song writing...another great hit by Paramore!

General CommentI feel like the song has multiple meanings, depending on the perspective. The song from Paramore's eyes is probably about the Farro brothers, but in my eyes its about loosing a loved one. Notice the song is in the 'mourning' and when people die, you mourn them.
"And it takes all my strenght
    Not to dig you up
from the ground in which you lay
    the biggest part of me
    You were the greatest thing
And now you're just a memory"

This part really relates to losing a loved one.
I love the song either way. Paramore hit another home run with this one.

General Commentit's about the Farro brothers, but it also reminds me of someone who sort of tried to help a friend through a depression, and when the friend finally ended it all, it's sort of like a final goodbye.

Song MeaningActually they told about the meaning of the song in an interview some months ago.

In the mourning is about Taylors experience with the break. He was like the thing that kept the band together for a long time being firends with both sides. When it finally came to splitting ut he had the choice of going with his best friends or go on for the fans.

Taylor chose us, and had a darn hard time getting over the loss of his best friend. Ofcourse they are still friends, but a lot has changed.

The things above are completely true, but the following id my own meaning on it.

I know I didnæt say he went with the fans AND Hayley and Jeremy, but that's because I truely think he wouldn't continue if it hadn't been for the amazing fanbase. Now tough I think he oves being a part of Paramore and he will follow Hayley and Jeremy anywhere. The just needed to tour again and get to know eachothers again... With brand new eyes to say it that way.
