Heems:

Tried it at a party and it was my thing
Paranoid, self-conscious, this is my thing
Greed-heads and weed-heads
Self-anointing street cred
Emaciated fools look at us and note that we fed

Weed-edge, it ain't a hobby dude
It's a lifestyle
Rap songs about weed
Yo that's tight wild
Dude's so green he look like Nickelodean gat
I'm in a Cineplex Odeon, burning in the back
Listening to Burning Spear
Taking trips to Burning Man
Told my dude I'd call him back
When I'm done with burning, man
Burnt after reading, the script to Burn After Reading
You say it's addictive,
I say that's misleading
Lampin in the basement, lamps for cross-breeding
Not a day job
Older, quarter and feed them

Half gooey
My uncle's an Afghan
Light skinned Hindu, dude a real man's man
Yeah he grow that gan-gan right next to the poppies
Papi, I caught whiff and quick to try to copy
I'm - shit, that mean you can't copy
Then I broke bread, ate my lamb mad sloppily
Uncloneable shit, that mean you can't copy
Eyes slanted cause the Afghan goo
Afghan goo for Himanshu
Half gooey, ooey-ooey-ooey
Ooey-ooey-ooey-ooey-ooey-ooey-ooey

Kool A.D:

Half gooey, ooey-ooey-ooey
I was finna go out, and then I watched two movies
Now I'm... feeling pretty groovy
Probably finna grab a snack like Scooby
Woooow, heh,
This is silly dumb shit
Was it really one hit?
Now my mouth drier than a nun's tit
Ah, dogonnit
Those two zooty motherfuckers done done it
Half gooey, ooey-ooey-ooey
Sticky-icky-icky
Vicky-Vicky-Vicky
V-A-Z-Q-U-E-Z
Believe me,
I make these stupid-ass raps look easy
Yeeeah... weed, marijuana, cannabis, pot
I like to smoke pot, cheeba, weed
Oh wait, I already said weed
Shoutout to my girl Marisol
She love weed
Heh...

Alright, see you guys laater
And I'm out

(Ey yo what happened to peace?)
Peace!

Here's the dialogue at the end:

Boy: So you're smoking, right? Girl: Riiight... Boy: And then once you keep on... you know, once it starts kicking in, you start laughing, right. You start laughing, and then... and then you start, you start feeling really, really good. And then you think of the shit you never thought of, you think of the things you don't even think of. Girl: Mhm-hmm... Boy: Like... Like the thing I told you about, when my friend told me that deep ass shit, like... What if life were the blink of an eye? What if this was the blinking of an eye, and we're already, like... dead? Girl: What the fuck! That doesn't make sense either! Boy: You'll get it when you're high!... Naww, I get it, I - It's not supposed to make sense, you're just supposed to be like, "What the fuck?" Girl: Like, "Whoa, what the fuck?" Boy: Exactly! Girl: Exactly! "Wtf, wtf? Boy: Na na na, no piensas, heh... But yeah, that's what happens. And then the whole rest of the day you're fucking laughing

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
