I drove into a children's book and now I'm stuck
How could this happen to me, I guess it's just dumb luck
I sink into a lucid dream and it came to me
The islands bulged into cold blue night in a place that I couldn't be
Some dumb luck

I'm going home to an empty nest on reality TV
A town that's leading it's simple lives, it's a shame that they can't see
Some dumb luck

General Comment I don't know if this band will EVER get the recognition it deserves, or if this song will ever get looked up on Songmeanings, but this is the greatest song I have ever heard. I love this band more than I could ever love another human being or material possession. Something about Real Estate just has a profound effect on me. Maybe it's because I nod on opiates to all their albums, or maybe it's just because this is the best band I have heard yet.

Anyways, great band, great song, great everything.

General CommentThe opiates are a definite factor, but nonetheless, I agree they're a superb jam band. As for the meaning of "Dumb Luck", in light of their Garden State origins, I like to think that it's a loving criticism of the people they grew up with and the state's unfortunate reputation as a cultural wasteland. See "Jersey Shore".
