Ooooooooh
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you

I said

Ooooooooh
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you

I see you when the lights turn low
I want you more than anyone knows
These one of a kind
Thoughts all over my mind
And you don't know anything about it

It gives me such delight to watch you get in the mood
And you don't know anything about it
To treat you right, just right, and spend an evening with you
And you don't know anything about it

I see you when the lights turn low
I want you more than anyone knows
These one of a kind
Thoughts all over my mind
And you don't know anything about it

Ooooooooh
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you

I said

Ooooooooh
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you

I see you when the lights turn low
I want you more than anyone knows
These one of a kind
Thoughts all over my mind
And you don't know anything about it

Looking out the window I can't help but stop and stare
This fine young woman's on the corner standing there
And, mmm, I start to wonder
Mmm, I wonder why
Would things be really different if I couldn't catch her eye
Man, maybe I managed to act real cool
But she turned around and played me like a fool
A fool
See something in her mewl
Makes me scared to even try
That simply she's into another guy
That's why

Ooooooooh
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you

I said

Ooooooooh
I'm waiting for you
I'm waiting for you

General CommentFirst half of the song, coupled with the feel of the music, would make you think it's about simply wanting someone; eyeing them from across the room at a party or a club, waiting for that moment to pounce and make her yours..

Then the last verse shows the doubt and fear of acting on your feelings, revealing the song is about waiting for the other party to make a move instead of facing rejection.
