"SOFI Needs a Ladder" as written by Joel Zimmerman and Sofi Toufa....
Let's play musical chairs, one of my favorite games
Especially now that you and I have traded place
You walk around in shoes that don't fit for a change
There is a way for you to win this race

Crisscross you turn your shirt inside out
You like to think I can't figure you out, but the tables have turned
What goes around comes around, you're about to get burned
Flip the script, you're checking in, I'm checking you out

You're just too sweet till you get on my nerves and hurt like cavity
You left a bad taste in my mouth, my Sour Patch Kid
You and me, it's no mystery, no magic trick
Let me hear this broken record again, just press repeat

I can be your new favorite waste of time, and you'll be mine
All I want is your attention, it's all the same thing
Are you in? What's it gonna be?
Don't roll with the punches, make it hard for me baby

Drop you like a needle on the record, scratch my itch
Watch you walk in circles hit the beat
Drop you like a needle on the record, flip my switch
Go around in circles, hit the beat

Drop you like a needle on the record, scratch my itch
Watch you walk in circles hit the beat
Drop you like a needle on the record, flip my switch
Go around in circles, hit the beat

Drop you like a needle on the record, scratch my itch
Watch you walk in circles hit the beat
Drop you like a needle on the record, flip my switch
Go around in circles, hit the beat

Let's play musical chairs, one of my favorite games
Especially now that you and I have traded place

    General Commenthm... methinks it's:

"There is no way you can win this race."

Maybe it's a song about one-upping. Follow me, if you will.

A mentor and a protégé. The mentor is very egotistical, thinks she/he's the best. But, the protégé eventually surpasses the mentor's skill (and possibly gains fame that the mentor did not reach, or ever had). The mentor (suddenly, but not surprisingly, acting humble) asks to spend time bouncing ideas off of one another.

    What if it's like this:

Let me hear this broken record again, just press repeat:

"I can be your new favorite waste of time, and you'll be mine"

    >>Quoting the mentor

"All I want is your attention"
    It's all the same thing.

    >>Making fun of the "humble request", probably publicly, by stating that both phrases mean the same.

The protégé sees through the act and recognizes an attempt to "steal the better method", calls the mentor out (publicly) and begs that the mentor not sit down and "take-it" (don't roll with the punches).

    Or, it's about a relationship/sex/drugs/whatever. Just a thought.

My OpinionI don't know why, because they're very coarse and sarcastic, but the vocals in this song are very sexy. Kind of in the same way Adele's are.

General CommentI think that the meaning of this song is that the girl that Sofi is portraying is getting revenge on her boyfriend who cheated on her or that she is blackmailing him
"You like to think I can't figure you out, but the tables have turned
What goes around comes around, you're about to get burned"
means that shes doing exactly what he did to her
"You're just too sweet till you get on my nerves and hurt like cavity"
meaning that he acts like he still loves her but she knows he cheating and him talking with her just reminds her that he cheated on her
"I can be your new favorite waste of time, and you'll be mine"
making fun of how they first felt for each other compaired to now hence the and you'll be mine
"All I want is your attention, it's all the same thing
Are you in? What's it gonna be?"
joking about something he says all the time
"You and me, it's no mystery, no magic trick
Let me hear this broken record again, just press repeat"
joking about how he always has excuses
"Drop you like a needle on the record, scratch my itch (flip my switch)" meaning that shes going to break up with him, that is after she gets he satisfaction.
"Watch you walk in circles (Go around in circles) hit the beat."
meaning shes laughing at him watching him trying to cover is tracks
"Don't roll with the punches, make it hard for me baby"
meaning shes dropping hints on him that she knows hes cheating and telling him to try harder next time.
