"The Harold Song" as written by and Kesha Sebert Joshua Coleman....
I miss your soft lips
I miss your white sheets
I miss the scratch of your unshaved face on my cheek
And this is so hard
'Cause I didn't see
That you were the love of my life and it kills me
I see your face in, strangers on the street
I still say your name when I'm talking in my sleep
And in the limelight, I play it off fine
But I can't handle it when I turn off my night light
(Oh, oh, oh) but I can't handle it when I turn off my night light
(Oh, oh, oh)

They say that true love hurts
Well, this could almost kill me
Young love, murder
That is what this must be
I would give it all to not be sleeping alone
The life is fading from me
While you watch my heart bleed
Young love, murder
That is what this this must be
I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

Remember the time
We jumped the fence when
The stones were playing, and we were to broke to get in
You held my hand and
They made me crawl
I swear to God it was the best night of my life
Or when you took me, across the world, we
Promised this would last forever but now I see
It was my past life
A beautiful time
Drunk off of nothing but each other till the sunrise (oh, oh, oh)
Drunk off of nothing but each other till the sunrise

They say that true love hurts
Well this could almost kill me
Young love, murder
That is what this must be
I would give it all to not be sleeping alone
The life is fading from me
While you watch my heart bleed
Young love, murder
That is what this this must be
I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

It was the past life
A beautiful time
Drunk off of nothing but each other till the sunrise (till the sunrise)

They say that true love hurts
Well this could almost kill me
Young love, murder
That is what this must be
I would give it all to not be sleeping alone
The life is fading from me
While you watch my heart bleed
Young love, murder
That is what this this must be
I would give it all to not be sleeping alone

General Commentthis is some decent lyrical writing.
'Drunk off of nothing but each other till the sunrise'
man. ke$ha doesn't get nearly enough credit as a musician, she knows her shit.

General CommentThis really needs to be a single, I think it would help show all the damn haters that she has talent, and she is more than just "a party attention whore" s people have said

General CommentEasily my favorite song on the new album.

Meaning self explanatory- she misses him. We've all been there.

My OpinionThis song has so much more depth than most of the songs she has out right now. I found it on accident a few days ago and immediately it made me cry. It is a very relateable song and it shows a different side of Ke$ha. When she sings 'Oh oh oh' there is so much emotion and you can feel the pain. When she says 'I see your face in strangers on the street I still say your name when I'm talking in my sleep' you can feel how much she loved him and you just want to give her a big hug and tell her that it's all going to be fine. This is easily my favorite song at the moment. MORE LIKE THIS!

Song MeaningThis song is about how she lost her fiancé in an accident. The emotions created by that traumatic event led to the creation of this song; probably one of her deepest songs that I've ever heard from her. Imagine: You meet someone; you fall madly in love with them, get engaged, and have that person torn from your arms while you are left alone, haunted by the memories of your past life with them. This song is about so much more than loss, it's about total mental and emotional devastation, about wanting to go back to the past when you had that person, but knowing that you will never be able to. They're gone, and you can't do anything about it, despite the strong outer appearance that you put on.
This song has made me cry multiple times, it's just loaded with emotional lyrics, such as "Drunk off of nothing but each other till the sunrise" and the play on a traditional saying in "They say that true love hurts well this could almost kill me". Half the strength of this song is the emotion that Ke$ha puts into this song, the other half is the fact that everyone can relate to it in some way. We've all lost someone who we loved, we've all missed someone dearly, and we've all made that harsh realization that we can never have them back.
Most defiantly one of her deepest songs, and I hope you feel the same way about it as I do, with tears in your eyes as you reflect upon your past life and how badly you would give anything just to hold their hand again, just to see their face, just to not be sleeping alone...just to be loved by them once again.
