Faults
have weighed on my confidence
The years
have stolen my innocence
It's hard
to pay the price for this
Tonight
could be the last to spend

[chorus:]
Just see me through the night
Just see me through the fight
Somehow

Somehow
Ooohhh

Now I'm
I'm looking for ways to hide
from the walls
between every voice inside
I'm caught
It's something I can't describe
So I
I wait just for you tonight

[chorus]

Maybe hope
will buy us another day
and time
will fix what I can't erase
But it all
feels millions of miles away
And I
don't think I'll get there anyway

Can you change my thoughts around?
And I pray you'll stay for now
Can you save what's breaking down?

Just see me through the fight

Somehow [x2]

[chorus]

Somehow

[chorus]

Only you

Just see me through the night
You take me through the fight

Somehow [x3]

You take me through the night

Somehow [x3]

Ooohhh

[chorus]

    My Interpretation

Beautiful lyrics... This is a very personal song, you can tell it comes from the heart. The Fight is against the flesh against sin "Faults have weighed on my confidence The years have stolen my innocence It's hard to pay the price for this Tonight could be the last to spend" He is being honest and admits what caused him to get away from God. Even acknowledges that it's hard to suffer the consequences and is aware that like that it could be the last night.

"Now I'm I'm looking for ways to hide from the walls between every voice inside I'm caught It's something I can't describe So I I wait just for you tonight" When someone is in sin, our first human reaction is to try to hide. He even says how he hears voices inside (remorse, the devil tries to convince us that we can stand in God) So he just waits..

"Maybe hope will buy us another day and time will fix what I can't erase But it all feels millions of miles away And I don't think I'll get there anyway"

He hopes that God will buy him another day, because who has control over time and life other than Him? He admits he cant erase his past or his sins, and thinks he cant get there anyway (many times we think that sin is too big to overcome) although his thoughts are that he wont get there, he asks God: "Can you change my thoughts around? And I pray you'll stay for now (who else do we pray to other than God?) Can you save what's breaking down?" Just see me through the night (most difficult time of the day) Just see me through the fight (see me through this constant struggle of flesh)

"Somehow" (We dont know God's ways but he asks him to do it somehow)

Love mutemath, and even if they didnt write it out to God, i take it that way because i can relate to is. I know many will disagree but its my take on this song's meaning. God bless!

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
