"Sinner's Prayer" as written by and Salvatore P. Erna....
To love the right,
Yet do so wrong.
To be the weak,
Yet burn to be so strong.

Go rider, although your ride has been through lies.
Go rider, see your soul through the devils eyes.

If I could live my life again,
Would I live that life in sin?

Go rider, go ride into the night.
Go rider, now see your soul through a woman's eyes.

I am sinner.
Hold my prayers up to the sun.
(Hold my prayers up to the sun)
I am sinner.
Heaven's closed for what I've done.

What have I done? (What have I done?)
What have I done?

I am sinner. (I am sinner)
Hold my prayers up to the sun.
(Hold my prayers up to the sun)
I am sinner.
Heaven's closed for what I've done.

Heaven's closed for what I've done.

General CommentThis sounds to me like a guy who has been through alot of struggles throughout his life and has not made the best of decisions. While still humbly asking for forgiveness, he doesn't believe that he will get to Heaven because of the sins he has made and is coming to terms with that. For everyone listening to this song, know that if you truly desire and ASK for forgiveness and righteousness in your life and are willing to commit to making a change, then Heaven will NEVER be closed to you because of your sins, at least in this life. The next life I'm not so sure of... What do you think?

General CommentActually rottenchain, the word's in this song "Mumbo Jumbo" come from the movie "The Expendables" They give each other a cheers of "mumbo jumboblah blah blah" so on so forth at the end of the movie. This song was written based on that cheers (because when tracks are written for a movie the artist watches the movie minus music before he writes the song/s. The scene with this song was cut out of the beginning of the movie because of poor film angles and editing. But the film ends just as how it begins with the mercenaries flying home after another successful mission. SO going with the deleted scene from the movie

Wyburn21 is the winner of this round of song meanings. but it has nothing to do with animism. It has to do with living with your actions and sticking to your beliefs, and asking for forgiveness.

General CommentI believe this this song is about his struggle with religion .No matter what he does right or wrong .It is a sin no matter his path through life..but living his life the best way he is capable .... doesn't believe he is good enough for heaven...but his spiritually is very strong still in his heart and soul

General CommentWhenever I hear this song, my thoughts always jump straight to Marvel's character Ghost Rider, especially if you know the background each one has. Each one has a person they love (the right) but they always are swept by the power of the Rider and do the wrong (commit a sin whether it be killing or in Johnny Blazes case, cures his fathers cancer only to have him die later) and how they hope to be free of their curse. Then the "heaven's closed for what I have done..." is their thoughts knowing that all the death they have brought means they may never find true peace. The story of the Ultimate Sinner who who's Prayers will never be fulfilled...

General CommentI hear "mumbo jumbo" chanting. And this is exactly what the lyrics is all about. Like everything that came from Sully Erna. I can't stop wondering why people buy into him as he puts no meaning into his work. Oh yes he is a sinner. A sinner to music and arts being an honest endeavor.
