"Nero" as written by Brian Mcternan, James Buddy Nielsen, Daniel Gerard Trapp, Garrett Michael Zablocki and Jason Black....
I spend my life driving without headlights
I'm running from who I am
I've got my back laid across the iron tracks
Waiting for life to pass

I hit the floor so hard because I've been getting all my therapy at the bar
And this is the last time I'll try
When all the drinks are gone and it's just me in the honesty of the dawn
My shadow shows someone who's afraid of the morning sun

Just when I thought that it couldn't get much worse
I turned around and I saw you there tonight
So when will I get a break from life
It's driving me to drink tonight
You know that you were my worst addiction
Now you're here after two years of being clean
So when will I learn to break routine
And forget you like a dream

I'm gonna say this sober so I have no excuse
I need you in my life like my neck needs a noose

Just when I thought that it couldn't get much worse
I turned around and I saw you there tonight
So when will I get a break from life
It's driving me to drink tonight
You know that you were my worst addiction
Now you're here after two years of being clean
So when do I learn to break routine
And forget you like a dream
I set the fire as I played my violin

I spend my life driving without headlights
I'm running from myself
Just when I thought that it couldn't get much worse
I turned around and I saw you there tonight
So when will I get a break from life
It's driving me to drink tonight
You know that you were my worst addiction
Now you're here after two years of being clean
So when do I learn to break routine
And forget you like a dream
You know that you were my worst addiction
Now you're here after two years of being clean
So when do I learn to break routine
And forget you like a dream

General CommentI agree with Austin, I definitely think it's about a girl. Especially because of the line "You always knew you were my worst addiction", meaning (according to my interpretation) both of them know that he's still desperately in love with her even though she probably treated him horribly, and Buddy knows that he shouldn't love her and just get over her, but he can't. He's "addicted" to her, more than alcohol. He knows he's being a fool for still loving her but he can't help himself.

And I think his "routine" is getting himself drunk whenever thoughts of her or events with her happen, and he gets depressed that he can't be with her. So the overall theme of the song is trying to break his habit of drinking and his love for the girl, and he's questioning himself when he'll finally let himself do it. That's my interpretation.

And SoulReaver93, I love Legacy of Kain so much, it's my favorite game series. There are rumors that there might be another game, so let's hope :D

General CommentI think this song is about his father. & how his dad showed up after being two years of being clean from alcohol and he sees him because he finally shows up to reconcile with his son. He obviously is flustered by it, but he knows he needs him in his life..

General CommentI think this song's about a girl and a relationship that just wouldnt work. She is his worst addiction and the heart ache causes him to drink.

General CommentIf you know anything about buddy he generally writes about his dad and/or alcohol addiction. I would say xo0lyssa probably has it closest to right.
