"God Made Man" as written by Sameer Gadhia, Eric Matthew Cannata, Jacob John Tilley, Francois Paul Comtois and Payam Reza Doostzadeh....
You never know the weight of your crimes
But when all the gates have closed and you're tired
You stand a while by the fire
And it burns bright
A while, a while, you sit quiet

Inside you're so warm
Your eyes open up
To the sunrise
To the sunrise
Far from here

I never know the state that you're in
It's obvious to climb in your skin
But I know how to walk across
When it's silent inside, it feels right
Inside you're so warm

Your eyes open up
To the sunrise
To the sunrise

'Cause I want you to know
That I know

'Cause I want you to know
That I know

'Cause I want you to know
That I know

'Cause I want you to know
That I just

(God made man and his reason)
'Cause I want you to know

(God made man and his reason)
'Cause I want you to know

(God made man and his reason)
'Cause I want you to know

(God made man and his reason)
'Cause I want you to know

(God made man and his reason)
'Cause I want you to know

My InterpretationThis song is extremely beautiful. I think whoever posted the lyrics on this page accidentally misheard the lyrics. I think the song actually says "Cause I want you to know, that I don't". And to me I think he is trying to say, I don't know why God made man. The only one who actually knows is God himself. God made man for his own reasons.

General CommentI always think he says "God made man, against reason."

General CommentI love how this song acknowledges that God supersedes the limitations of human reason, and infinite possibility can never be imagined by anyone but that divinity

General CommentThis song always reminds me of James (circa the Laid album), albeit more upbeat. Pacing, themes, etc.

My InterpretationI believe the lyrics are "God made man, and his reasons... // I want you to know that I don't..."

I think the intention is that they are two halves to a single statement, "God made man, but I don't know why."

I think the rest of the song is simply about meditation and finding this feeling of inner peace and meaning. In the end, he wants to share this feeling with others, despite the fact he's yet to understand it.

General CommentI don't think this song necessarily has to be about God. To me, "God" seems more representative of that kind of contentment or idealism you can't explain.
