We're crossing lines
Rules and friendships no longer apply
The bottle is empty and so am I
I'm hoping you'll stop me as I whisper my intentions across your thighs
You don't hesitate, so we give in 'til daylight kills the night

How do we cover it up?
(Bury the gas can, and tell another lie)
We're hurting the ones that we love
(???)

Let's burn this city down
And watch the flames from afar
In the sea of flames, we'll drown
Everything that we are

How do we cover it up?
(Bury the gas can, and tell another lie)
We're hurting the ones that we love
(???)

I can't forget this night
I can't forget this night
I can't forget this night
I can't forget this night
(I cannot keep this up)

And so it all falls down around me
And so it all falls down around me
Around me

How do we cover it up?
How do we cover it up?

My InterpretationTwo friends get drunk together and things go too far. They end up having sex, but they're cheating on the ones they really love. He feels overwhelmingly guilty wishing she would have declined. But he can't pretend like it never happened. He can't lie any more.
