You don't need me now, so I'll show myself out.
I've learned my lesson.
If there is nothing left to hold onto to,
then there is nothing to let go.

Consider me dead.
Consider me dead like this.

Hello, I'm sorry that I wasn't listening.
Why the long face, man?
I swear I care, but you claim not enough.
You should've made a difference when you had a chance.

So consider me dead.
Consider me dead like this.
If that's how you roll, then roll.
If there is nothing left to hold onto,
then there is nothing to let go.
Consider me dead like this.

So consider me dead.

General Commentwell, at first i thought the song was about how he felt dead or worthless to a girl, but then i saw "Hello, I'm sorry that I wasn't listening.
    Why the long face, man?"
..aand now im not so sure.

perhaps it could be about how he's been trying to do right by people, but they don't seem to see his actions, and he feels dead to them?
