I hate the way that you look in the moonlight
But if I'm mistaken I'll join you in takin' the rest of my life, my life
Oh-ho we are inclined to destroy ourselves
But if we are open then I guess we're broken like everyone else, one else

I said well I'm embracing
Your outlook on takin'
To save the last dance, well by chance

I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love

Dear, this embrace is a caricature of my plans
So head over heels is the way it feels
It mirrors romance of romance

Oh-ho well I'm embracing
Your outlook on takin'
To save the last dance, well by chance

I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
Love, love

?

I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
I'm killing romance
In the name of love, love
Love, love

Song MeaningHm... I don't know if this is right, but i think taht it's about a guy in a realationship, and don't think taht it works, and he don't love her anymore. So he will "Kill the romance" between them, so they can find the love, and give it to someone else?
I don't know if it's what it means... But that's what i came to think of :)

General CommentGood song, but romance is overrated. It comes a dime a dozen, like the Vicki Lawrence song that I performed on stage. True romance stems from love and honesty...and complementing another. Of sticking with them through thick and thin. Of seeing all of them (the good; the bad; the ugly; the warts) and always wanting more for them. Of never lying to them just to make them feel warm and fuzzy at the expense of them having a better life. Yes, romance based on dishonesty/mistruths is nothing but frosting on cake. It gets eaten fast and then it's gone. It tasted great at the moment, but the cake (the substance) remains untouched. (Lawd, I don't know if that analogy makes any sense, but it sounded good at the time:).

Song MeaningI think that this song is saying that these days, women expect so much out of romance, that it destroys the relationships they have because the men can't live up to these unrealistic expectations.

The chorus says that he won't try and live up to these romantic expectations in an attempt to save their relationship: "I'm killing romance in the name of love".

I know it sounds crazy but this is my interpretation of it.
