One hand in the air, if he don't really care
Two hands in the air, if he don't really care
It's like that sometimes, I mean ridiculous
It's like that sometimes, the shit ridiculous

One hand in the air, if he don't really care
Middle finger in the air, if you don't really care
It's like that sometimes man ridiculous
Life can be sometimes ridiculous

I'm so appalled Spalding ball
Balding Donald Trump, takin' dollars from y'all
Baby your fired, your girlfriend hired
But if you don't mind I'ma keep you on call
We above the law, we don't give a fuck 'bout y'all
I got dogs that'll chew a fuckin' whole through the wall
But since they all lovers, I need more rubbers
And if I don't use rubbers, need more covers
Housekeeping, I mean goddamn
One time, let it be a bad bitch sweepin'
That know we get O's like cheerios
That know because they seen us in the videos
That know the day that you play me
Will be the same day M.T.v. Play videos
That was a little joke, voila
Praises due to the most high, Allah
Praises due to the most fly, Prada
Baby I'm magic ta-da
Address me as your highness, high as United
Thirty thousand feet up and you are not invited
Niggas be writin' bullshit like they gotta work
Niggas is goin' through real shit man they outta work
That's why another goddamn dance track gotta hurt
That's why I rather spit somethin' that gotta purp'

Champagne wishes, thirty white bitches
I mean the shit is fuckin' ridiculous, fuckin' ridiculous
I mean the shit is fuckin' ridiculous
Five star dishes, different exotic fishes
Man this shit if fuckin' ridiculous, fuckin' ridiculous

How should I begin this? I'm just so offended
How am I even mentioned by all these fuckin' beginners?
I'm so appalled, I might buy the mall
Just to show niggas how much more I have in store
I'm fresher than you all, so I don't have to pause
All of y'all can suck my balls through my drawers
Dark knight feelin', die you be a hero
Or live long enough to see yourself become a villain
I went from the favorite, to the most hated
But would you rather be underpaid or overrated?
Moral victories is for minor league coaches
And 'Ye already told you we major you cockroaches
Show me where the boats is, Ferrari Testarossas
The hammer went and broke so you know I'm more focused
I lost thirty mill' so spent another thirty
'Cause unlike Hammer thirty million can't hurt me
Fucking insane, the fuck am I saying
Not only am I fly, I'm fucking not playin'
All these little bitches, too big for they britches
Burning their little bridges, fucking ridiculous

Champagne wishes, thirty white bitches
I mean the shit is fuckin' ridiculous, fuckin' ridiculous
I mean the shit is fuckin' ridiculous
Five star dishes, different exotic fishes
Man this shit is fuckin' ridiculous, fuckin' ridiculous

Success is what you make it
Take it how it come
A half a mill' in twenties like a billion where I'm from
An arrogant drug dealer the legend I've become
CNN said I'd be dead by twenty one
Blackjack I just pulled in Aces
You looking at the king in his face
Everything I dream motherfuckers I'm watchin' it take shape
While to you I'm just the young rich nigga that lacks faith
Range Rove leather roof, love war fuck a truce
Still move a bird like I'm in bed with Mother Goose
Them hoes comin' in a baker's dozen
Claiming they was wit' me when they know they really wasn't
I keep the city's best never said she was the brightest
So if you had her too it don't effect me in the slightest
I never met a bitch that didn't need a little guidance
So I dismiss her past until she disappoints your highness
I speak the gospel, hostile
Tony doing time for what he did to nostrils
Paranoid mind I'm still under the watchful
Eye of the law, aspire for more
Those kilo's came we give you Bobby Brown jaw
Flaws ain't flaws when it's you that makes the call
Flow similar to the legends of the falls
Spillin' I own you all, yeughck!

One hand in the air, if he don't really care
Two hands in the air, if he don't really care
It's like that sometimes, I mean ridiculous
It's like that sometimes, the shit ridiculous

One hand in the air, if he don't really care
Middle Finger in the air, if you don't really care
It's like that sometimes man ridiculous
Life can be sometimes ridiculous, huh!

Huh, I am so outrageous
I wear my pride on my sleeve like a bracelet
If God had an iPod I'd be on his playlist
My phrases amazes the faces in places the favorite
My cup over runneth with hundreds
Dummy damn its hard not for me to waste it
The new commandment
Though should not hate kid
My movement is like the Civil Rights I'm Ralph David
Abernathy, so call my lady Rosa Parks
I am nothing like those niggas baby those are marks
I met this girl on Valentine's Day
Fucked her in May, she found out about April
So she chose to march, Ha
Damn another broken heart
I keep bitches by them two's nigga, Noah's Ark
I got a seven on me
I call my dro' Lamar
Plus a Trojan in my pocket, Matt Leinart
G-a-t in the path finder
Cause you haters got P.H.d's
Y'all just some major haters and some math minors
Tiger woods don't make me grab iron

Champagne wishes and thirty white bitches
You know this shit is fuckin' ridiculous, fuckin' ridiculous
You know this shit is fuckin' ridiculous

Cars for the missus
And furs for the mistress
You know that shit is fuckin' ridiculous, fuckin' ridiculous
You know this shit is fuckin' ridiculous
Fuckin' ridiculous, fuckin' ridiculous
Fuckin' ridiculous, fuckin' ridiculous

One hand in the air, if he don't really care
Two hands in the air, if he don't really care
It's like that sometimes, I mean ridiculous
It's like that sometimes, the shit ridiculous

One hand in the air, if he don't really care
Middle Finger in the air, if you don't really care
It's like that sometimes man ridiculous
Life can be sometimes ridiculous, huh!

OK to get conversation started on this track, here we goooooo...

"I'm so appalled, spalding ball" Ok maybe this is crazy but i think it's a reference to his life after the taylor swift incident. he was a CASTAWAY (yeah that's right bitches like the tom hanks movie) and he has nothing left (hence spalding ball) BEST LINE EVER

"Housekeeping I mean goddamn, one time let it be a bad bitch sweeping" YUPPPP ANOTHER GOOD LINE HAHA

"Five-star dishes, different exotic fishes" OH HERE IS ANOTHER ONE

"I went from the favorite to the most-hated" What's Jay-Z talking about here? Anyone know???

"And Hammer went broke so you know I'm more focused" I think this should be: "The handle went broke so you know I'm more focused" because it's fucking dumb to rhyme "Hammer" with "Hammer" (and this makes more sense)

PUSHA T KILLED THIS TRACK, his entire verse is awesome but here is a highlight: "A half a mil in twenties's like a billion where I'm from"

And these lines will always be overlooked: "I keep the city's best, never said she was the brightest So if you had her too, don't effect me in the slightest I never met a bitch that didn't need a little guidance So I dismiss her past until she disappoints Your Highness"

By the way CYHI sucks on this track and RZA KILLED (even though he didn't rap, he helped w/ production)

I think Jay is referring to himself actually as the villain (in some peoples eyes, such as beginners). Just in general how more and more people seem to take shots at his music these days when at one time he was the next big thing. I like his music and there's no denying his success, but there are plenty of critics out there. The underpaid or overrated line is almost admitting to selling out though, if he is infact referring to himself. Which would you rather be, catering to the underground scene or rich (not underpaid) and viewed as overrated? The Dark Knight line is him making himself the villain again, somewhat paranoid line about how eventually some of your original fans will turn against you.

By the way, isn't it "I might buy the mall/ Just to show n***as how much more I have in store"?

To me this song is about how overwhelmed with shame you can be by becoming rich, successful, popular/hated/famous....i can relate to this song from personal experience growing up most of my life in the hood not having clothes food ect to basicly overnight dining in the fanciest places and driving the most expensive cars(long story) alot of people dont know this but theres alot of hate/racism/still going on in america and these rappers have worked very hard to get where they are right now in there lives yet they still feel appalled, disrespected because they still see they're families and people struggle back at home and at the same time cant enjoy a good night out somewhere at a nice party because people looking at them like 'what the hell are you doing here?!?" im going through this right now and it kinda makes alot of sense one of my favorite songs:)

I don't think Jay's entire verse is directed towards Hammer. I think he is referring to LeBron James going from the favorite to the most hated NBA player by making the decision to leave 30 mill to play for the heat. He also talks about; "But would you rather be underpaid or overrated?"

    • LeBron taking less pay to possible win championships rather than being an ovverrated player with no rings. "Die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain"
    • The Big-3 are now the biggest villains in sports

Let me know what y'all think!

"Dark Knight feeling, die you be a hero Or live long enough to see yourself become a villain I went from the favorite to the most-hated" These lines are referring to people thinking he is illuminati. You gotta think back before all that shit got brought up everybody loved Hov but now a days you mention his name it's always tagged with "devil-worshipper" or "He sold sold his sould to the devil"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
