I read the books, I see them on TV
These colored-paged heroes
Well, they mean something to me
When all is lost, and the world is aflame
They jump off the page
And save mankind from the shame

Comic book heroes, you know they're coming to life
Comic book heroes, don't use a gun or knife

If your cat's up a tree, or the earth's on it's knees
Don't despair
'Cause your wife will be saved
By the man with the golden blond hair

There he goes!

Crime, plague, destruction by nuclear war
Can all be averted by the hammer of Thor
Spider Man's web catches thieves in the night
The Fantastic Four has got Doom in their sights

Comic book heroes, you know they're coming to life
Comic book heroes, don't use a gun or knife

If the glaciers recede, or your nation's in need
They'll be there
To protect all mankind from the leaders who don't really care

Comic book heroes, you know they're coming to life
Comic book heroes, don't use a gun or rock or a stick or a chain or a club or shank or a knife
Comic book heroes, You know they're ready to fight
Comic book heroes, they turn our wrong into right

Heroes

Song MeaningThis is a pretty rad song, and a lot of fun, but I think it has a deeper meaning about how, often times, we get frustrated with our leaders and government to solve problems, both simple and severe, and wish we had these "super heroes" around to solve these problems. I'm sure if they were around during the BP oil leak, they would have soled the problem in half a day!
